It should be noted that the display panel 10 of the present disclosure can be used in a display panel. Based on the display panel 10 of the present disclosure, viewing angles of the display panel during display are increased. Specifically, the pixel units 11 are arranged in a matrix array. Each column of the sub-pixels 11a is arranged between two adjacent data lines 30 in a horizontal direction. The sub-pixels 11a in a same column have a same color. Specifically, one sub-pixel corresponding to the high grayscale H and three sub-pixels 11a corresponding to the low grayscales (L1, L2, and L3) in the grayscale combined pixel 20 replace one sub-pixel 11a of an original grayscale. The grayscale combined pixel 20 comprises three sub-pixels of different colors corresponding to the high grayscale and nine sub-pixels 11a corresponding to the low grayscale, so one grayscale combined pixel 20 can replace three sub-pixels 11a of the original grayscales. One sub-pixel 11a of the original grayscale is replaced with one sub-pixel corresponding to the high grayscale and three sub-pixels corresponding to the low grayscales, which further increases a difference between the high grayscale and the low grayscales. Therefore, viewing angles of the display panel are further improved.
Please refer to
It should be noted that one sub-grayscale combined pixel 20a replaces one sub-pixel 11a of the original grayscale. In some embodiments, as shown in
In addition, an arrangement order of the one sub-pixel 11a corresponding to the high grayscale and the three sub-pixels 11a corresponding to the low grayscales in the sub-grayscale combined pixel 20a may be adjusted freely, which will not be described in details in the embodiments of the present disclosure.
Please refer to
It should be noted that this embodiment not only needs to ensure that the sub-pixels 11a in two adjacent rows in two columns comprise one sub-pixel 11a corresponding to the high grayscale and three sub-pixels 11a corresponding to the low grayscales, but also needs to ensure that four adjacent sub-pixels in the same column comprise one sub-pixel 11a corresponding to the high grayscale and the three sub-pixels 11a corresponding to the low grayscales. This embodiment uses such a pixel arrangement structure to make an arrangement of the sub-pixels 11a more balanced, which is beneficial to improve quality of the display panel.
Specifically, sub-pixels 11a the grayscale combined pixel 20 comprises one high grayscale H and three low grayscales (L1, L2, and L3).
Please refer to
In another embodiment, if the sub-pixel 11a in the first row in the first column in the display panel 10 corresponds to the high grayscale H, and the sub-pixel 11a in the first row in the first column has the positive polarity, grayscale values of the three low grayscales (L1, L2, and L3) are increased. By increasing the grayscale values of the three low grayscales, influence of “the sub-pixel 11a in the first row in the first column in the display panel 10 corresponds to the high grayscale H” and “the sub-pixel 11a in the first row in the first column has the positive polarity” on the display effect of the display panel is eliminated.
The sub-pixels 11a corresponding to the high grayscale H in the grayscale combined pixels 20 in adjacent columns are located in different rows. Staggering the sub-pixels 11a corresponding to the high grayscale H in the grayscale combined pixels 20 in adjacent columns prevents uneven display of the display panel. This structure improves display quality of the display panel.
Please refer to
It should be noted that grayscale values of the three sub-pixels 11a in the first pixel unit 111a are same, grayscale values of the three sub-pixels 11a in the second pixel unit 111b are same, grayscale values of the three sub-pixels 11a in the third pixel unit 111c are same, and grayscale values of the three sub-pixels 11a in the fourth pixel unit 111d are same. The grayscales corresponding to the sub-pixels 11a in the first pixel unit 1111a, the second pixel unit 111b, the third pixel unit 111c, and the fourth pixel unit 111d may be exchanged. For example, the first pixel unit 111a comprises three sub-pixels 11a corresponding to the first low grayscale, the second pixel unit 111b comprises three sub-pixels 11a corresponding to the second low grayscale, the third pixel unit 111c comprises three sub-pixels 11a corresponding to the third low grayscale, and the fourth pixel unit 111d comprises three sub-pixels 11a corresponding to the high grayscale. In the display panel 10 of this embodiment, the original grayscales of all the sub-pixels 11a in one pixel unit 11 may be replaced to further increase the difference between the high grayscale and the low grayscales, thereby further improving the viewing angles of the display panel.
A grayscale value of the high grayscale H is greater than grayscale values of the low grayscales (L1, L2, and L3). The first low grayscale L1, the second low grayscale L2, and the third low grayscale L3 have different grayscale values.
It should be noted that the grayscale value of the first low grayscale L1 may be greater than the grayscale value of the second low grayscale L2, and the grayscale value of the second low grayscale L2 may be greater than the grayscale value of the third low grayscale L3. In some embodiments, a relationship between the grayscale values of the first low grayscale L1, the second low grayscale L2, and the third low grayscale L3 may be adjusted. In other embodiments, the first low grayscale L1, the second low grayscale L2, and the third low grayscale L3 may have a same grayscale value.
Please refer to
It should be noted that arrangement positions of the red sub-pixel 111, the green sub-pixel 112, and the blue sub-pixel 113 may also be changed. For example, the blue sub-pixel 113, the green sub-pixel 112, and the red sub-pixel 111 are arranged in order from left to right in the horizontal direction.
The high grayscale and the low grayscales corresponding to the sub-pixels 11a are obtained by looking up values corresponding to the original grayscales of the sub-pixels 11a through a wide viewing angle algorithm.
It should be noted that the wide viewing angle algorithm preprocesses the input data lines 30 without changing original display brightness. For example, taking 128 grayscale display of the red sub-pixel 111 as an example, find one high grayscale H and three low grayscales (L1, L2, and L3) of the red sub-pixel 111 on a front-view gamma curve, and an average brightness of the one high grayscale H and the three low grayscales (L1, L2, and L3) of the red sub-pixel 111 is equal to a brightness of four original red sub-pixels 111 with 128 grayscale. In this way, the one high grayscale H and the three low grayscales (L1, L2, and L3) of the red sub-pixel 111 are obtained. Of course, one high grayscale H and three low grayscales (L1, L2, and L3) of each of the green sub-pixel 112 and the blue sub-pixel 113 can be found by a same method.
