Claims
- 1. An articulator tray having at least one opening with repeating broadened and narrowed regions in said opening, said opening providing for acceptance of stabilization means for securing the model upon said tray wherein said opening extends at least ½ of the length of said tray.
- 2. An articulator comprising two trays of claim 1, each of said trays having an opening wherein said opening can accept indexing pins, a spine, or stone as stabilization means.
- 3. The articulator tray of claim 1 with indexing pins inserted into the broadened areas of said opening.
- 4. The articulator tray of claim 1 with a spine inserted into said opening.
- 5. The articulator tray of claim 1 wherein said opening is broader at the superior surface of said tray than at the exit from said opening.
- 6. The articulator of claim 2 wherein said trays have attached thereto hinge portions which are capable of interaction with hinge portions from a second tray to form a completed hinge means.
- 7. The articulator of claim 6 wherein said hinge means allow both horizontal and lateral movement in the hinge means.
- 8. The articulator of claim 7 wherein the hinge means is a ball joint.
- 9. The articulator tray of claim 1 having one opening with multiple receptor spaces for acceptance of identical pins.
- 10. The articulator tray of claim 1 having two opening.
- 11. The articulator tray of claim 1 having projections for providing stability of a model on the tray.
- 12. A method of making a model from an impression comprising:
1) on a tray having a continuous opening with multiple receptor spaces, inserting at least two pins into said receptor spaces, 2) loading stone onto said tray into which pins have been inserted, 3) forcing the stone loaded onto the tray in step 2 against an impression, 4) allowing the stone to harden.
- 13. A method of making a model from an impression comprising:
1) on a tray having an opening with repeating broadened and narrowed regions in said opening, placing a spine in said opening, 2) loading stone onto said tray with said spine inserted, 3) forcing the stone loaded onto the tray in step 2 against an impression, 4) allowing the stone to harden.
- 14. A method of making a model from an impression comprising:
1) loading stone onto a tray having repeating broadened and narrowed regions in said opening with sealing means at the bottom of said opening, forcing said stone into said opening, 2) allowing stone to partially harden, 3) forcing the stone on tray as prepared in steps 1 and 2 against an impression, and 4) allowing stone to harden.
