Claims
- 1. A disposable bag having an integral reflux valve formed from an upper portion of the bag inverted inside the bag comprising:
- an upwardly tapered plastic bag having a closed bottom and closed, tapered sides and an open top, said closed sides tapering inwardly toward said open top;
- said integral reflux valve comprising an upper portion of said sides adjacent said open top being folded inwardly into said plastic bag at a fold with said open top being oriented toward said closed bottom with said open top being spaced above said closed bottom an incremental distance, said tapered sides also directing said open top away from said closed sides to provide said reflux valve as a freely depending reflux valve; and
- a funnel for said plastic bag fabricated as two flat surfaces joined along adjacent edges to form an open funnel when said edges are forced toward each other causing said flat surfaces to bow outwardly away from each other, said edges having a tapered profile corresponding to said taper of said closed sides so that said funnel will be received in said fold to thereby provide a funnel to said plastic bag with a portion of said reflux valve extending below said funnel.
- 2. The disposable bag defined in claim 1 wherein said plastic bag is mounted to said funnel along a portion of said tapered neck, said tapered neck being inverted inside said plastic bag, said funnel being inserted into said inverted neck with a portion of said inverted neck extending into said plastic bag below said funnel to form a reflux valve.
- 3. The disposable bag defined in claim 1 wherein said funnel includes a closure extending upwardly from one flat surface of said funnel and adapted to be foldable downwardly across said funnel to close said funnel, said closure including adhesive means for sealingly engaging said closure to a second flat surface of said funnel.
- 4. A disposable bag having a funnel and an integral reflux valve comprising:
- a funnel member having an open top and an open bottom and comprising a first, flexible sidewall and a second, flexible sidewall joined along adjacent sides edges, said first and second sidewalls having corresponding trapezoidal profiles with a first, longer length across a top of said funnel and a second, shorter length across a bottom of said funnel, said side edges converging toward the open bottom at an acute angle, said funnel being openable upon squeezing said side edges together;
- a disposable bag attached to said funnel, said bag having a closed bottom, an open top and a first, open mouth at said open top with an upwardly tapered neck adjacent said first, open mouth a reflux valve inside said bag, said reflux valve being formed as an integral part of said bag by said neck being inverted into said bag to form a second mouth in said tapered neck, the width of said second mouth corresponding to a third length ranging between said first, longer length across said top of said funnel and said second, shorter length across said bottom of said funnel, said tapered neck having an angle corresponding to said acute angle of said funnel so that said funnel resides in said second mouth with said first mouth and a portion of said tapered neck extending below said bottom of said funnel and forming a reflux valve inside said bag below said bottom of said funnel; and
- adhesive means for adhesively sealing said funnel in said second mouth.
- 5. The disposable bag defined in claim 4 wherein said first, flexible side wall includes a closure extending upwardly from said top and being foldable downwardly across said open top to close said sidewall against said first sidewall, said closure including closure adhesive means for sealingly engaging said closure to said second sidewall.
