Claims
- 1. An integral pull-up type absorbent article comprising:
(a) a cover sheet; (b) a back sheet; (c) an absorbent layer disposed intermediate said cover sheet and said backsheet; (d) a pair of spaced apart leg openings; (e) a front waist region having a first lateral end and a second lateral end; (f) a back waist region having a first lateral end and a second lateral end, the first lateral end of the back waist region being connected to the first lateral end of the front waist region, and the second lateral end of the back waist region being connected to the second lateral end of the front waist region: (g) a first tab disposed adjacent the first lateral end of the back waist region and a second tab disposed adjacent the second lateral end of the back waist region, wherein, when said front waist region and said back waist region are disconnected, said first tab and said second tab can directly engage said front waist region.
- 2. The integral pull-up type absorbent article of claim 1, wherein each of the first and second tabs comprises:
a first end attached to the back waist region; and a second end extending from the corresponding one of the first and second lateral ends of the back waist region, the second end comprising a hook strip.
- 3. The integral pull-up type absorbent article of claim 1, wherein each of the first and second lateral ends comprises a side seal.
- 4. The integral pull-up type absorbent article of claim 3, wherein each of the side seals is adhesively secured to its respective lateral end.
- 5. The integral pull-up type absorbent article of claim 1, wherein the waist region is elasticated.
- 6. The integral pull-up type absorbent article of claim 2, wherein the front waist region is made of a loop material that accepts the hook strips of the first and second tabs.
- 7. The integral pull-up type absorbent article of claim 6, wherein the front waist region is made of a spunbond nonwoven.
- 8. The integral pull-up type absorbent article of claim 2, wherein the front waist region comprises a first region disposed adjacent the first lateral end of the front waist region and a second region disposed adjacent the second lateral end of the front waist region, and the first region and the second region of the front waist region have higher affinity to accepting the hook strips of the first and second tabs in relation to the remainder of the front waist region.
- 9. An integral pull-up type absorbent article comprising:
(a) a cover sheet; (b) a back sheet; (c) an absorbent layer disposed intermediate the cover sheet and the backsheet; (d) a pair of spaced apart leg openings; (e) a front waist region having a first lateral end and a second lateral end; (f) a back waist region having a first lateral end and a second lateral end, the first lateral end of the back waist region being connected to the first lateral end of the front waist region, and the second lateral end of the back waist region being connected to the second lateral end of the front waist region; (g) a first tab attached to the first lateral end of the back waist region and a second tab attached to the second lateral end of the back waist region, each of the first and second tabs having a portion extending outwardly relative to its respective lateral end and having a free end comprising a hook surface, wherein when the front waist region and the back waist region are disconnected, the hook surfaces of the first and second tabs can directly engage the front waist region.
- 10. The integral pull-up type absorbent article of claim 9, wherein each of the lateral ends comprises a side seal.
- 11. The integral pull-up type absorbent article of claim 10, wherein each of the side seals is adhesively secured to its respective lateral end.
- 12. The integral pull-up type absorbent article of claim 9, wherein the waist region is elasticated.
- 13. The integral pull-up type absorbent article of claim 9, wherein the front waist region is made of a loop material that accepts the hook surfaces of the first and second tabs.
- 14. The integral pull-up type absorbent article of claim 9, wherein the front waist region comprises a first region disposed adjacent the first lateral end of the front waist region and a second region disposed adjacent the second lateral end of the front waist region, and the first region and the second region of the front waist region have higher affinity to accepting the hook surfaces of the first and second tabs in relation to the remainder of the front waist region.
- 15. An integral pull-up type absorbent article comprising:
(a) a cover sheet; (b) a back sheet; (c) an absorbent layer disposed intermediate the cover sheet and the backsheet; (d) a pair of spaced apart leg openings; (e) a front waist region having a first lateral end and a second lateral end; (f) a back waist region having a first lateral end and a second lateral end, the first lateral end of the back waist region being connected to the first lateral end of the front waist region, and the second lateral end of the back waist region being connected to the second lateral end of the front waist region; (g) a first tab attached to the first lateral end of the back waist region and a second tab attached to the second lateral end of the back waist region, each of the first and second tabs having a portion extending outwardly relative to its respective side edge and having a hook surface, wherein the front waist region is made of a loop material that accepts the hook surfaces of the first and second tabs and, when the front waist region and the back waist region are disconnected, the hook surfaces of each of the first and second tabs directly engage the front waist region.
- 16. The integral pull-up type absorbent article of claim 15, wherein each of the lateral ends comprises a side seal.
- 17. The integral pull-up type absorbent article of claim 16, wherein each of the side seals is adhesively secured to its respective lateral end.
- 18. The integral pull-up type absorbent article of claim 15, wherein the waist region is elasticated.
- 19. A ready-to-wear pull-up type absorbent article comprising:
(a) a coversheet; (b) a back sheet; (c) an absorbent layer disposed intermediate the cover sheet and the back sheet; (d) a pair of spaced apart leg openings; (e) a waist region comprising a front waist region connected to a back waist region, the front waist region having an outer surface of loop material; (f) a pair of spaced apart tabs attached to the back waist region, each of the tabs having a hook surface, wherein, when the back waist region is disconnected from the front waist region, each of the hook surfaces of the tabs can engage with the loop material.
- 20. The ready-to-wear pull-up type absorbent article of claim 19, wherein each of the front waist region and the back waist region has two lateral ends and each of the lateral ends comprises a side seal.
- 21. The ready-to-wear pull-up type absorbent article of claim 19, wherein the waist region is elasticated.
