Claims
- 1. A unitary disposable pull-on garment comprising:
- a front region having an end edge, side edges, leg edges, and a seam panel extending laterally outwardly to said side edge, each said seam panel extending longitudinally from said end edge to said leg edge;
- a back region opposed to said front region, said back region having an end edge, side edges, leg edges, and a seam panel extending laterally outwardly to each said side edge, each said seam panel extending longitudinally from said end edge to said leg edge;
- a crotch region between said front region and said back region; and
- an intermittent seam joining each said seam panel of said front region to a corresponding said seam panel of said back region at spaced apart locations so as to form two leg openings and a waist opening, each said seam comprising a plurality of clusters, each of said clusters comprising an intermittent pattern of a plurality of individual bonds grouped together, each of said clusters being spaced apart from one another to provide an unbonded portion,
- wherein said unbonded portion of each said seam ranges from about 20% to about 65% of the length of said seam.
- 2. The garment of claim 1 wherein each of said clusters is spaced from each other by a distance of from about 6 mm to about 20 mm.
- 3. The garment of claim 2 wherein each of said clusters has a height, h, from about 6 mm to about 60 mm.
- 4. The garment of claim 3 wherein each said seam comprises a lap seam.
- 5. The garment of claim 4 wherein said unbonded portion of each said seam allows vapor transmission to form a breathable seam.
- 6. The garment of claim 5 wherein each said seam comprises four clusters.
- 7. The garment of claim 1 wherein each said seam comprises a cluster adjacent the leg opening, said cluster having a height of at least about 20 mm.
- 8. The garment of claim 1 wherein each said seam has a cluster located adjacent said waist opening to allow a line of tension around the waist opening.
- 9. The garment of claim 8 wherein said cluster adjacent said waist opening is spaced away from said waist opening by a distance less than about 5 mm.
- 10. The garment of claim 9 wherein each said seam comprises a cluster adjacent said leg opening, and wherein the cluster adjacent said waist opening and the cluster adjacent said leg opening are each spaced away from the waist opening and the leg opening, respectively, by a distance less than about 5 mm.
- 11. The garment of claim 10 wherein the cluster adjacent said leg opening has a height, h, of from about 30 mm to about 40 mm to minimize buckling of the seam adjacent said leg opening.
- 12. The garment of claim 1 wherein each said seam comprises a lap seam.
- 13. The garment of claim 12 wherein said unbonded portion of each said seam allows vapor transmission to form a breathable seam.
- 14. The garment of claim 12 wherein each of said clusters is spaced from each other by a distance of from about 6 mm to about 60 mm.
- 15. The garment of claim 14 wherein each of said clusters has a height, h, from about 6 mm to about 60 mm.
- 16. The garment of claim 15 wherein each said seam comprises a cluster adjacent said leg opening, said cluster having a height, h, of from about 30 mm to about 40 mm.
- 17. The garment of claim 16 wherein each said seam additionally comprises a cluster adjacent said waist opening, and the cluster adjacent said waist opening and the cluster adjacent said leg opening are each spaced away from said waist opening and said leg opening, respectively, by a distance less than about 5 mm.
