Claims
- 1. A distortion compensation apparatus for compensating for distortion occurring in an amplifier, said distortion compensation apparatus comprising:distortion generating means for generating distortion of one of an amplitude and a phase of a signal provided for the amplifier; signal level detecting means for detecting a level of the signal provided for the amplifier; distortion amount control means for controlling an amount of the distortion generated by said distortion generating means based on the level detected by said signal level detecting means; and control timing adjusting means for adjusting a timing for controlling the amount of the distortion by said distortion amount control means to adjust a delay time between a timing of the generating of the distortion of the signal by said distortion generating means and the timing of the controlling based on the level of the signal by said distortion amount control means, so that a residual amount of distortion due to a presence of the delay time in the signal issued from the amplifier is minimized.
- 2. The distortion compensation apparatus according to claim 1,wherein said control timing adjusting means adjusts the delay time between said distortion amount control means which controls the compensation of the distortion occurring in the amplifier and said distortion generating means in which the signal to be amplified flows and the distortion for compensation is generated, by selecting an adjusted delay time as an updated delay time on which a smaller residual amount of distortion from between a first delay time which corresponds to a result of adding a set delay time and a set adjusting time and a second delay time which corresponds to a result of subtracting the set adjusting time from the set delay time.
- 3. The distortion compensation apparatus according to claim 2,wherein said control timing adjusting means repeats updating of the delay time, so that the updated delay time is set closer to an optimum delay time.
- 4. The distortion compensation apparatus according to claim 3,wherein said control timing adjusting means reduces the set adjusting time as a difference between the residual amount of distortion on the set delay time and the residual amount of distortion on the adjusted delay time gets smaller.
- 5. A wireless transmission apparatus for transmitting signals wirelessly, said wireless transmission apparatus comprising:an amplifier operable to amplify a signal; and a distortion compensation apparatus comprising: distortion generating means for generating distortion of one of an amplitude and a phase of the signal provided for said amplifier; signal level detecting means for detecting a level of the signal provided for said amplifier; distortion amount control means for controlling an amount of the distortion generated by said distortion generating means based on the level detected by said signal level detecting means; and control timing adjusting means for adjusting a timing for controlling the amount of the distortion by said distortion amount control means to adjust a delay time between a timing of the generating of the distortion of the signal by said distortion generating means and the timing of the controlling based on the level of the signal by said distortion amount control means, so that a residual amount of distortion due to a presence of the delay time in the signal issued from said amplifier is minimized, wherein said distortion compensation apparatus compensates for the distortion occurring in said amplifier for amplifying the signal to be transmitted by said wireless transmission apparatus, and said control timing adjusting means adjusts the timing for controlling the amount of the distortion by said distortion amount controls means within an error in a unit of seconds of less than a value of a reciprocal number of a number of over-samplings times a value of a band of the signal to be transmitted.
- 6. The wireless transmission apparatus according to claim 5,wherein said control timing adjusting means adjusts the delay time between said distortion amount control means which controls the compensation of the distortion occurring in said amplifier and said distortion generating means in which the signal to be amplified flows and the distortion for compensation is generated, by selecting an adjusted delay time as an updated delay time on which a smaller residual amount of distortion from between a first delay time which corresponds to a result of adding a set delay time and a set adjusting time and a second delay time which corresponds to a result of subtracting the set adjusting time from the set delay time.
- 7. The wireless transmission apparatus according to claim 6,wherein said control timing adjusting means repeats updating of the delay time, so that the updated delay time is set closer to an optimum delay time.
- 8. The wireless transmission apparatus according to claim 7,wherein said control timing adjusting means reduces the set adjusting time as a difference between the residual amount of distortion on the set delay time and the residual amount of distortion on the adjusted delay time gets smaller.
- 9. A distortion compensation apparatus for compensating for distortion occurring in an amplifier, said distortion compensation apparatus comprising:a control timing adjustment system operable to adjust a delay time between a control system of distortion compensation which controls the compensation of the distortion occurring in the amplifier and a main signal system in which a signal to be amplified flows and distortion for compensation is generated, by selecting an adjusted delay time as an updated delay time on which a smaller residual amount of distortion from between a first delay time which corresponds to a result of adding a set delay time and a set adjusting time and a second delay time which corresponds to a result of subtracting the set adjusting time from the set delay time.
- 10. The distortion compensation apparatus according to claim 9,wherein said control timing adjustment system is operable to repeat updating of the delay time, so that the updated delay time is set closer to an optimum delay time.
- 11. The distortion compensation apparatus according to claim 10,wherein said control timing adjustment system is operable to reduce the set adjusting time as a difference between the residual amount of distortion on the set delay time and the residual amount of distortion on the adjusted delay time gets smaller.
