Claims
- 1. A recombinant DNA molecule encoding mammalian follistatin which specifically inhibits basal secretion of follicle-stimulating hormone but does not inhibit basal secretion of luteinizing hormone.
- 2. A recombinant DNA molecule according to claim 1 encoding human follistatin.
- 3. A recombinant DNA molecule according to claim 1 encoding human follistatin having amino acid residues 1 to 315 inclusive as set forth in FIG. 4.
- 4. A recombinant DNA molecule according to claim 1 encoding human follistatin having amino acid residues 1 to 288 inclusive as set forth in FIG. 4.
- 5. A recombinant DNA molecule according to claim 1 encoding porcine follistatin having amino acid residues 1 to 315 inclusive as set forth in FIG. 4.
- 6. A recombinant DNA molecule having the nucleotide sequence set forth in FIG. 4 that encodes the precursor for human follistatin having amino acid residues -29 to +315 inclusive.
- 7. A recombinant DNA molecule having the nucleotide sequence set forth in FIG. 4 that encodes the precursor for human follistatin having amino acid residues -29 to +288 inclusive.
