Claims
- 1. A mechanism for the power operation of a door lock device, comprising:
- a housing;
- a locking arm pivotally mounted to the housing to rotate in one direction to a locking position and in the opposite direction to an unlocking position for performing a locking and unlocking operation, respectively;
- a handling lever, having a distal arm portion, pivotally mounted to the housing and rotatable through a predetermined angle respective locking and unlocking position;
- a motor mounted to the housing and having a shaft rotatable about an axis orthogonal to the pivotal axis of the handling lever;
- a worm gear having a plurality of laterally disposed gear teeth of a first tooth trace mounted on the shaft;
- a wheel gear rotatable mounted on an axis parallel to and spaced from the pivotal axis of the handling lever between the worm gear and said pivotal axis, said wheel gear having opposite radially extending surfaces and having peripherally disposed gear teeth of a second tooth trace different from the first tooth trace in meshing engagement with the worm gear teeth; said teeth of the first and second tooth traces having opposite contact faces slanting in an oblique direction relative to the shaft, said contact faces of the teeth of the first tooth trace engaging said opposing contact faces of the teeth of the second tooth trace in said oblique direction to urge the teeth of the wheel gear out of mesh with the worm gear;
- an abutment having a convex surface projecting axially from one of the radially extending surfaces of the wheel gear and having a length with opposite ends defining a predetermined angular sector of the wheel gear, the opposite ends of the abutment being disposed to engage the distal arm portion of the lever at angular locations on the radially extending surface of the wheel gear to provide a reaction force to urge the teeth of the wheel gear into closer meshing engagement with the worm gear when respective opposite ends of the abutment engage the arm portion during rotation of the handling lever in opposite directions through the predetermined rotatable angle; and
- stopper members disposed spaced from the gear wheel for limiting movement of the handling lever.
- 2. The mechanism of claim 1 further comprising elastic material disposed between the motor and the housing for resiliently supporting the motor to the housing.
- 3. The mechanism of claim 1 wherein the distance between the gear teeth of the wheel gear is less than the distance between the gear teeth of the worm gear.
- 4. The mechanism of claim 1 wherein the minimum and maximum widths of each of the gear teeth of the wheel gear is less than the corresponding minimum and maximum distance between gear teeth of the worm gear.
- 5. The mechanism of claim 1 wherein the abutment has inner and outer edges forming a segment having a convex outer surface opposing and spaced from the gear teeth with the opposite ends terminating in a curved surface joining the inner and outer edges; and the distal arm portion of the lever having opposite surfaces extending from an inner end to an outer end of the distal arm portion, each of the opposite ends of the segment being respectively in engagement with one of the opposite surfaces of the distal arm portion when commencing rotation of the lever from one of the locking and unlocking positions to the other and engaging slidably the outer surface of the abutment during said rotation.
- 6. The mechanism of claim 3 wherein the stopper member is elastic.
- 7. The mechanism of claim 5 wherein the position of engagement of the abutment and the distal arm portion of the lever is adjacent an imaginary line extending between the stopper member and the worm gear.
