The disclosure and prior art relates to exercise assemblies and more particularly pertains to a new exercise assembly for maintaining physical fitness.
An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a plurality of brackets, a bar, a plurality of handles, and a plurality of straps. The brackets are configured to couple to a jamb of a doorway. The bar is configured to couple to the brackets so that the bar is parallelly positioned relative to the jamb. The straps are resilient. Each strap is configured to reversibly couple to and extend between the bar and a respective handle. A respective strap is positioned on the bar so that the respective handle is positioned to be grasped in a hand of a user. The respective strap is configured to provide resistance to movement of the respective handle distally from the bar.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.

A plurality of first holes 24 is positioned through the first plate 14. The first holes 24 are threaded. Each of a plurality of screws 26 is threadedly inserted through a respective first hole 24. A fourth plate 28 is coupled to and extends between first termini 30 of the screws 26 to position the fourth plate 28 between the first plate 14 and the second plate 16. The fourth plate 28 also is positioned perpendicularly to the third plate 18. Each of a plurality of knobs 32 is coupled to a second terminus 34 of a respective screw 26. The knobs 32 are configured to facilitate rotation of the screws 26 within the first holes 24 to selectively position the fourth plate 28 relative to the first plate 14. The fourth plate 28 and the second plate 16 are configured to frictionally couple to the jamb to couple the bracket 12 to the jamb. In one embodiment, the plurality of first holes 24 comprises two first holes 24.
Each of a pair of tabs 36 is coupled to and extends perpendicularly from the second plate 16 to define a slot 100. Each of a pair of second holes 38 is positioned through a respective tab 36. The second holes 38 are alignably positioned.
A first pad 40 is coupled to the fourth plate 28. The first pad 40 faces the second plate 16. A second pad 42 is coupled to the second plate 16. The second pad 42 faces the first pad 40. The second pad 42 and the first pad 40 are configured to separate the fourth plate 28 and the second plate 16 from the jamb to protect the jamb.
A bar 44 is configured to couple to the plurality of brackets 12 so that the bar 44 is parallelly positioned relative to the jamb. In one embodiment, the bar 44 is substantially rectangularly box shaped. A plurality of channels 46 is positioned through the bar 44 such that each channel 46 extends between opposing sides 48 of the bar 44. The channels 46 are complementary to the second holes 38.
The assembly 10 comprises a plurality of pins 50 that is complementary to the channels 46 and the second holes 38. The channels 46 are positioned through the bar 44 such that a respective channel 46 is positioned to align with the second holes 38 of a respective bracket 12. The respective channel 46 and the second holes 38 are positioned to insert a respective pin 50 to couple the bar 44 to the respective bracket 12 and to position the bar 44 parallel to the jamb.
Each of a plurality of hinges 52 is positioned in a respective pin 50 to define a first section 54 and a second section 56 of the respective pin 50. The hinge 52 is positioned to pivot the second section 56 relative to the first section 54 to lock the respective pin 50 within a respective pair of second holes 38 and a respective channel 46.
The assembly 10 comprises a plurality of handles 58. Each handle 58 comprises a first coupler 60. In one embodiment, the first coupler 60 comprises a first ring 62. In another embodiment, the plurality of handles 58 comprises a handlebar 64. In yet another embodiment, the plurality of handles 58 comprises a pull cord grip 66. The pull cord grip 66 is substantially triangularly shaped. In still yet another embodiment, the plurality of handles 58 comprises a plurality of handgrips 68. Each handgrip 68 is configured to mimic a shaft of a sporting device, such as a golf club, a tennis racket and a baseball bat.
In one embodiment, the assembly 10 comprises a belt 70 that is configured to position around and couple to a leg of a user proximate to an ankle of the leg. The belt 70 comprises a second coupler 72. In another embodiment, second coupler 72 comprises a second ring 74. In yet another embodiment, a first connector 76 is coupled to a first edge 78 of the belt 70. A second connector 80 is coupled to a second edge 82 of the belt 70. The second connector 80 is complementary to the first connector 76. The second connector 80 is positioned to couple to the first connector 76 to couple the belt 70 to the leg of the user. In still yet another embodiment, the first connector 76 and the second connector 80 comprise a hook and loop fastener 84.
The assembly 10 comprises a plurality of straps 86. The straps 86 are resilient. Each strap 86 is configured to reversibly couple to and extend between the bar 44 and a respective handle 58. A respective strap 86 is positioned on the bar 44 so that the respective handle 58 is positioned to be grasped in a hand of the user. The respective strap 86 is configured to provide resistance to movement of the respective handle 58 distally from the bar 44. Each strap 86 has a respective length so that the plurality of straps 86 has a variety of lengths. Each strap 86 has a respective resilience, which provides an associated restoring force, so that the plurality of straps 86 has a variety of resiliencies.
In one embodiment, the assembly 10 comprises a plurality of third couplers 88 and a plurality of fourth couplers 90. The third couplers 88 are complementary to the first coupler 60 and the second coupler 72. Each third coupler 88 is coupled to a first endpoint 92 of a respective strap 86. The third coupler 88 is positioned to couple to a respective first coupler 60 to couple the respective strap 86 to a respective handle 58. The third coupler 88 also is positioned to couple to the second coupler 72 to couple the respective strap 86 to the belt 70. The fourth couplers 90 are complementary to the channels 46. Each fourth coupler 90 is coupled to a second endpoint 94 of a respective strap 86. The fourth coupler 90 is positioned to couple to a respective channel 46 to couple the respective strap 86 to the bar 44. In another embodiment, the third couplers 88 comprise carabiners 96 and the third couplers 88 comprise snap hooks 98.
In use, the knobs 32 that are positioned on the screws 26 are configured to facilitate rotation of the screws 26 within the first holes 24 to selectively position the fourth plate 28 relative to the first plate 14. The fourth plate 28 and the second plate 16 are configured to frictionally couple to the jamb to couple the bracket 12 to the jamb. The second pad 42 and the first pad 40 are configured to separate the fourth plate 28 and the second plate 16 from the jamb to protect the jamb. The respective channel 46 is positioned through the bar 44 to align with the second holes 38 of the respective bracket 12. The respective channel 46 and the second holes 38 are positioned to insert the respective pin 50 to couple the bar 44 to the respective bracket 12 and to position the bar 44 parallel to the jamb. The third coupler 88 is positioned to couple to the respective first coupler 60 to couple the respective strap 86 to the respective handle 58. The third coupler 88 also is positioned to couple to the second coupler 72 to couple the respective strap 86 to the belt 70. The fourth coupler 90 is positioned to couple to the respective channel 46 to couple the respective strap 86 to the bar 44. The respective strap 86 is positioned on the bar 44 so that the respective handle 58 is positioned to be grasped in the hand of the user. The respective strap 86 is configured to provide resistance to movement of the respective handle 58 distally from the bar 44.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
