Claims
- 1. A woven fabric comprising:
- a plurality of warp threads forming a first edge warp, a main warp and a second edge warp;
- a shuttle thread forming a predetermined number of exterior loops about said first edge warp, said shuttle thread further extending across all of said warp threads in an interwoven fashion, and said shuttle thread further forming a predetermined number of exterior loops about said second edge warp;
- a first catch thread being interwoven in said main warp, looping around said shuttle thread, and forming a predetermined number of exterior loops about said first edge warp opposite said exterior loops formed by said shuttle thread about said second edge warp; and
- a second catch thread being interwoven in said main warp, looping around said shuttle thread, and forming a predetermined number of exterior loops about said second edge warp opposite said exterior loops formed by said shuttle thread about said first edge warp.
- 2. A woven fabric as set forth in claim 1 wherein said first catch thread forms part of said first edge warp where said shuttle thread forms said exterior loops about said first edge and said second catch thread forms part of said second edge warp where said shuttle thread forms said exterior loops about said second edge.
- 3. A woven fabric as set forth in claim 1 wherein said first catch thread loops around said shuttle thread between said main warp and said second edge warp, and said second catch thread loops around said shuttle thread between said main warp and said first edge warp.
- 4. A woven fabric as set forth in claim 1 wherein said first edge warp includes a plurality of threads and said shuttle thread is interwoven with said first edge warp where said shuttle thread forms said exterior loops about said first edge warp, and said second edge warp includes a plurality of threads and said shuttle thread is interwoven with said second edge warp where said shuttle thread forms said exterior loops about said second edge warp.
- 5. A woven fabric as set forth in claim 1 wherein said shuttle thread is a first color and said first and second catch threads are a second color to thereby form a fabric having an alternating color pattern along both edges.
- 6. A woven fabric comprising:
- a plurality of warp threads forming a first edge warp, a main warp, and a second edge warp,
- a shuttle thread forming a predetermined number of first exterior loops about said first edge warp, said shuttle thread further extending across said warp threads in an interwoven fashion and forming a predetermined number of second exterior loops about said second edge warp;
- a first catch thread interlooping around said shuttle thread, interweaving with said main warp, and forming exterior loops about said second edge warp when said shuttle thread forms said first exterior loops; and
- a second catch thread interlooping around said shuttle thread, interweaving with said main warp, and forming exterior loops about said first edge warp when said shuttle thread forms said second exterior loops.
- 7. A woven fabric as set forth in claim 6 wherein said first catch thread forms part of said first edge warp where said shuttle thread forms said exterior loops about said first edge and said second catch thread forms part of said second edge warp where said shuttle thread forms said exterior loops about said second edge.
- 8. A woven fabric as set forth in claim 6 wherein said first edge warp includes a plurality of threads and said shuttle thread is interwoven with said first edge warp where said shuttle thread forms said exterior loops about said first edge warp, and said second edge warp includes a plurality of threads and said shuttle thread is interwoven with said second edge warp where said shuttle thread forms said exterior loops about said second edge warp.
- 9. A woven fabric as set forth in claim 6 wherein said first catch thread loops around said shuttle thread between said main warp and said second edge warp, and said second catch thread loops around said shuttle thread between said main warp and said first edge warp.
