Claims
- 1. A drawer-type circuit breaker comprising a fixed housing means having a pair of side walls with a horizontally disposed slot in each wall, circuit breaker means moveably mounted within said housing means and having roller means extending into said slots in engagement with the edges thereof for moveably supporting said circuit breaker means, support rail means slidably mounted on said housing means for horizontal sliding movement parallel to said slot with the upper edge thereof in engagement with said roller means, said support rail means having notch means in the lower edge thereof adjacent the forward end thereof and chamfer means on the bottom edge of said support rail means adjacent the rear end thereof, latch means pivotally mounted on said housing means, spring means biasing said latch means into engagement with said notch means to prevent withdrawal of said support rail means when said circuit breaker means is fully engaged within said housing means, said latch means having one end portion protruding above the upper edge of said support rail means for engagement by said roller means upon disengagement of said circuit breaker means and flange means extending laterally from the other end of said latch means under said support rail means so that upon engagement of said one end portion of said latch means by said roller means said latch means will pivot out of said notch means to bring said flange means into engagement with the bottom edge of said support rail means to allow withdrawal of said support rail means while still preventing movement of said roller means past said latch means until said support rail means is fully extended to bring said chamfer means adjacent said flange means to permit further pivotal movement of said latch means to allow said circuit breaker means to be drawn outwardly onto said support rail means.
- 2. A drawer-type circuit breaker comprising housing means, circuit breaker means having roller means thereon for moveably supporting said circuit breaker means within said housing means, extendable support rail means on said housing means for supporting said circuit breaker means through said roller means outside of said housing means and latch means pivotally mounted on said housing means for engagement with said roller means and support rail means to initially prevent extension of said support rail means when said circuit breaker means is in a first position within said housing means and operable by said roller means upon movement of said circuit breaker means to a second position within said housing means to allow extension of said support rail means while preventing further outward movement of said circuit breaker means until said support rail means are fully extended whereupon said latch means is further operable by said roller means to permit further outward movement of said circuit breaker means.
- 3. A drawer-type circuit breaker as set forth in claim 2, wherein said latch means is comprised of a latch lever having a first arm extending into the path of said roller means and a second arm having a laterally extending flange underlying said support rail means and said support rail means is provided with a notch adjacent one end thereof for receiving said laterally extending flange on said latch lever to prevent extension of said support rail means and a chamfered bottom edge adjacent the other end of said support rail means adapted to be positioned adjacent said latch lever when said support rail means are in a fully extended position.
