Claims
- 1. A drum type drying/washing machine, comprising:
- a drum, adapted to accommodate laundry, including a number of holes on a peripheral wall thereof and a baffle for agitating laundry;
- a water tank enclosing said drum and supporting said drum rotatably about a horizontal axis;
- driving means for imparting driving force to rotate said drum in forward and reverse directions;
- heating means for heating air to be supplied to said drum; and
- control means for controlling said driving means to rotate said drum at least two levels of low and high rotational rates during a drying operation,
- wherein after completion of dehydration occurring at the high speed rotation, said control means controls said driving means such that said drum is either stopped for a predetermined period of time, or is stopped for a predetermined period of time and is then rotated in the reverse direction at a low speed, in order to separate laundry sticking to the peripheral wall of said drum.
- 2. A drum type drying/washing machine, comprising:
- a drum, adapted to accommodate laundry, including a number of holes on a peripheral wall thereof and a baffle for agitating laundry;
- a water tank enclosing said drum and supporting said drum rotatably about a horizontal axis;
- driving means for imparting driving force to rotate said drum in forward and reverse directions;
- heating means for heating air to be supplied to said drum; and
- control means for controlling said driving means such that said drum is rotated for a predetermined period of time at a high speed, once or a plurality of times, in order to dehydrate the laundry heated by a warm air from the heating means at an initial stage of a drying operation.
- 3. The drum type drying/washing machine according to claim 2, wherein, at the initial stage of the drying operation, said control means controls said heating means so as to reduce output power thereof.
- 4. The drum type drying/washing machine according to claim 2, wherein after the completion of the dehydration by the high speed rotation, said control means controls said driving means such that said drum is either stopped for a predetermined period of time, or is stopped for a predetermined period of time and then is rotated in the reverse direction at a low speed, in order to separate laundry sticking to the peripheral wall of said drum.
- 5. The drum type drying/washing machine according to claim 2, wherein, when the drying operation is performed with the high speed rotating dehydration or when the drying operation is performed with a low speed rotation, said control means controls said heating means and said driving means such that a total output power of an output power from said heating means and an output power of said driving means is equal to or less than a predetermined value.
- 6. A drum type drying/washing machine, comprising:
- a drum, rotatably incorporated inside a machine body, for accommodating laundry;
- driving means for rotationally driving said drum;
- air-blowing means for reintroducing air, exhausted from said drum, back into said drum through a circulating passage;
- dehumidifying means for dehumidifying the air inside the circulating passage by cooling the air using cooling water;
- heating means for heating the dehumidified air;
- exhausted air temperature detecting means for detecting a temperature of the air exhausted from said drum; and
- control means for controlling said driving means and said heating means based on the temperature detected by said exhausted air temperature detecting means,
- wherein said control means controls said heating means to turn on at a final dehydration operation prior to shifting to a drying operation and controls said driving means such that dehydration is performed even during the drying operation.
- 7. The drum type drying/washing machine according to claim 6, further comprising input means for inputting to said control means an option of whether said heating means is allowed to turn on after the completion of the final dehydration operation without shifting to the drying operation.
- 8. The drum type drying/washing machine according to claim 6, wherein said control means controls said driving means to rotate said drum at a predetermined high speed and to thereafter stop the driving to said drum, and detects time from the stop of the driving until said drum, rotating due to inertia, stops rotating, to estimate the weight of the laundry.
- 9. The drum type drying/washing machine according to claim 6, wherein the circulating passage has a hatch capable of opening/closing to discharge the air inside the circulating passage out of the machine body, and said control means opening said hatch based on the temperature detected by said exhausted air temperature detecting means.
- 10. A drum type drying/washing machine, comprising:
- a drum, rotatably supported inside a housing, for accommodating materials to be processed and a supporting body further supported inside the housing;
- driving means for rotationally driving said drum;
- control means for controlling said driving means to shift to a high speed rotation after said drum is rotated at a low speed at which the materials to be processed can roll over inside said drum; and
- unbalance detector, adapted to detect uneven distribution of the materials to be processed inside said drum, the unbalance detector further including a vibration detector, adapted to detect displacement of the supporting body;
- wherein said control means controls said driving means to rotate said drum at a low speed rotation at a balance rotational rate at which part of the materials to be processed around the rotary central axis of said drum can roll over, and said control means allows said driving means to accelerate said drum to the high speed rotation during a drying operation when an output from said vibration detector is equal to or less than a predetermined level.
- 11. The drum type drying/washing machine according to claim 10, wherein said vibration detector outputs a vibrating waveform in accordance with the vibration of said supporting body, and said control means allows said driving means to accelerate said drum to the high speed rotation when at least one of peak-to-peak values in the vibrating waveform is equal to or less than a predetermined value, and said vibrating waveform outputted from said vibration detecting means intersects a zero-level line.
- 12. The drum type drying/washing machine according to claim 11, wherein the output from said vibration detector is processed through a low pass filter.
- 13. The drum type drying/washing machine according to claim 11, wherein only when a predetermined number of peak-to-peak values in a row are all equal to or less than the predetermined value, does said controlling means control said driving means to accelerate said drum to the high speed rotation.
- 14. The drum type drying/washing machine according to claim 11, wherein when said drum has not started rotating with acceleration within a predetermined period of time after said controlling means outputs a signal for accelerating said drum to the high speed rotation, said control means increases a number of peak-to-peak values to be used for a next judgment.
- 15. The drum type drying/washing machine according to claim 10, wherein the balance rotational rate is a positive value when an acceleration of a mass point on the inner peripheral wall of said drum becomes equal to or greater than gravitational acceleration.
- 16. The drum type drying/washing machine according to claim 10, wherein when in the low speed rotation the output from said vibration detector exceeds the predetermined value within a predetermined period of time, said control means controls said driving means such that said drum is either stopped or is rotated at a rotational rate lower than the balance rotational rate, and thereafter said drum is rotated again at a restored rotational rate.
- 17. The drum type drying/washing machine according to claim 10, wherein when, in the low speed rotation, the output from said vibration detector exceeds the predetermined value within a predetermined period of time, said control means controls said driving means such that in the high speed rotation, said drum is rotated at a lower rotational rate than a rotational rate in the normal high speed rotation.
- 18. The drum type drying/washing machine according to claim 10, wherein when, in the low speed rotation the output from said vibration detector exceeds the predetermined value within a predetermined period of time, said control means controls said driving means such that in the high speed rotation, said drum is rotated at a lower rotational rate than a rotational rate in the normal high speed rotation and is rotated for a longer period of time than a period of time in the normal high speed rotation.
- 19. A drum type drying/washing machine, comprising:
- a drum, rotatably supported inside a housing, for accommodating materials to be processed and a supporting body further supported inside the housing;
- driving means for rotationally driving said drum;
- control means for controlling said driving means to shift to a high speed rotation after said drum is rotated at a low speed, at which the materials to be processed can roll over inside said drum; and
- unbalance detector, adapted to detect uneven distribution of the materials to be processed inside said drum, the unbalance detector further including a vibration detector, adapted to detect vibration of the supporting body in a direction perpendicular to a rotary central axis of the drum,
- wherein said control means controls said driving means such that said drum is rotated in a low speed rotation at a balance rotational rate above which the materials to be processed as a whole stick to an inner peripheral wall of said drum, and said control means allows said driving means to accelerate said drum to a high speed rotation during a drying operation when an absolute value of an output from said vibration detector is equal or less than a reference value and continues for a predetermined period of time.
- 20. The drum type drying/washing machine according to claim 19, wherein said control means changes the balance rotational rate in accordance with an amount of the materials to be processed.
- 21. The drum type drying/washing machine according to claim 20, wherein said control means changes the predetermined period of time in accordance with the balance rotational rate.
- 22. The drum type drying/washing machine according to claim 19, wherein the output from said vibration detector is processed through a low pass filter of about 3 Hz.
- 23. The drum type drying/washing machine according to claim 19, wherein the predetermined period of time is set to be equal to or longer than a period of time during which said drum rotates in a half revolution and is set to be equal to or shorter than a period of time during which said drum rotates in one revolution.
- 24. A drum type drying/washing machine, comprising:
- a drum, adapted to accommodate laundry, including a number of holes on a peripheral wall thereof and a baffle for agitating laundry;
- a water tank enclosing said drum and supporting said drum rotatably about a horizontal axis;
- driving means for imparting driving force to rotate said drum in forward and reverse directions;
- heating means for heating air to be supplied to said drum;
- control means for controlling said driving means to rotate said drum at at least two levels of low and high rotational rates during a drying operation, and
- unbalance detector, adapted to detect uneven distribution of the materials to be processed inside said drum, the unbalance detector further including a vibration detector, adapted to detect displacement of the supporting body;
- wherein after completion of dehydration occurring at the high speed rotation, said control means controls said driving means such that said drum is either stopped for a predetermined period of time, or is stopped for a predetermined period of time and is then rotated in the reverse direction at a low speed, in order to separate laundry sticking to the peripheral wall of said drum, and wherein
- said control means controls said driving means to rotate said drum at a low speed rotation at a balance rotational rate at which part of the materials to be processed around the rotary central axis of said drum can roll over, and said control means controls said driving means to accelerate said drum to the high speed rotation during a drying operation when an output from said vibration detector is equal to or less than a predetermined level.
- 25. The drum type drying/washing machine of claim 24, wherein the balance rotational rate is a positive value when an acceleration of a mass point on the inner peripheral wall of said drum becomes equal to or greater than gravitational acceleration.
- 26. The drum type drying/washing machine of claim 25, wherein said control means changes the balance rotational rate in accordance with an amount of the materials to be processed.
