Claims
- 1. A water dispersible composition comprising microcapsules wherein each microcapsule comprises(a) a core comprising at least one pyrethroid within (b) a polymeric shell comprising a polyurea or a urea/formaldehyde copolymer, said microcapsules being contained within a matrix comprising one or more water-soluble polymers wherein said one or more water-soluble polymers are present in an amount of from about 4 to about 15 weight percent of said water-dispersible composition and in which at least one of said water-soluble polymers is a copolymer or homopolymer of acrylic acid.
- 2. The composition of claim 1 wherein said one or more water-soluble polymers is present in an amount of from about 4 to about 10 weight percent of said water dispersible composition.
- 3. The composition of claim 1 wherein said water-soluble polymer is at least one of polyvinylpyrrolidone, polyvinyl alcohol, polyethylene oxides, ethylene/maleic anhydride copolymer, methyl vinyl ether maleic anhydride copolymer, water-soluble cellulose, water-soluble polyamides, water-soluble polyesters, water-soluble starches and modified starches, gums, dextrins and water-soluble proteins.
- 4. The composition of claim 1 wherein pyrethroid is selected from lambda-cyhalothrin, permethrin, and cypermethrin.
- 5. The composition of claim 4 wherein pyrethroid is lambda-cyhalothrin.
- 6. The composition of claim 1 wherein the microcapsule cores comprise a solid material suspended within a liquid material.
- 7. The composition of claim 1 wherein the solid material and liquid material are both pesticides.
- 8. The composition of claim 6 wherein the solid material is an ultraviolet light protectant thoroughly dispersed in the liquid as a particulate.
- 9. The composition of claim 1 wherein the microcapsule cores further comprise one or more surfactants, one or more solvents, or a mixture thereof.
- 10. The composition of claim 1 wherein said water dispersible composition further comprises one or more spray-drying adjuvants.
- 11. The composition of claim 1, wherein the water-soluble polymer is polyvinyl alcohol.
