Claims
- 1. An apparatus for guiding a cutting and marking device across the surface of a sheet of stock planar material, the apparatus comprising:
a U-shaped channel, the U-shaped channel having an upper section, a lower section, and a mid section; the upper section connected to the mid section at a substantially right angle; the lower section connected to the mid section at a substantially right angle; a stem, the stem connected to the upper section; a plurality of guide apertures being formed in said stem section.
- 2. The guide apparatus of claim 1 wherein said stem is positioned substantially perpendicular to said U-shaped channel.
- 3. The guide apparatus of claim 1 wherein said upper section, said lower section, and said mid section have interiorly tapered leading edge portions.
- 4. The guide apparatus of claim 1 wherein said guide apertures are incrementally spaced along the length of said stem.
- 5. The guide apparatus of claim 1 wherein said guide apertures comprise a conical formation in a portion of said stem.
- 6. The guide apparatus of claim 1 wherein said guide apertures comprise a slit formation in said stem.
- 7. The guide apparatus of claim 1 wherein said guide apertures comprise a circular formation in said stem.
- 8. The guide apparatus of claim 1 having a sleeve structure capable of engagement with said lower sleeve.
- 9. An apparatus for guiding a marking and scoring device across the surface of a sheet of stock planar material, the apparatus comprising:
a midsection having a first midsection edge and a second midsection edge; a bottom section having a bottom section edge, the bottom section edge connected to the first mid section edge at a substantially right angle; a stem having a stem edge, the stem edge connected to the second mid section edge at a substantially right angle; a plurality of guide apertures being formed in said stem section.
- 10. The guide apparatus of claim 8 wherein said stem is configured in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of said mid section.
- 11. The guide apparatus of claim 8 wherein said guide apertures are incrementally spaced along the length of said stem.
- 12. The guide apparatus of claim 10 wherein said guide apertures comprise a linear index through said stem.
- 13. The guide apparatus of claim 10 wherein said guide apertures comprise a circular index through said stem.
- 14. The guide apparatus of claim 12 wherein said circular indexes include a conical formation at one end of said index in said stem.
- 15. The apparatus of claim 11 wherein the linear index adjoins and openly intersects a circular index and a conical formation.
- 16. An apparatus adapted to slidably receive an edge of sheet of stock planar material for guiding a marking and scoring device across the surface thereof, the apparatus comprising:
a top section and a stem section; the top section forming a generally U-shaped channel; the U-shaped channel having an upper section, a lower section, and a midsection; said upper section extending laterally into said stem section; a plurality of guide apertures along said stem section.
- 17. The guide apparatus of claim 15 wherein said top section has a width generally greater than the width of said stem section.
- 18. The guide apparatus of claim 15, wherein said top section is perpendicular to said stem section.
- 19. The guide apparatus of claim 1, wherein said U-shaped channel has an inner and outer surface.
- 20. The guide apparatus of claim 18 wherein said inner surface includes interiorly tapered leading edge portions.
- 21. The guide apparatus of claim 15 wherein said guide apertures are incrementally spaced along the length of said stem section.
