Claims
- 1. A method for generating a defibrillation waveform for discharge between at least two electrodes implanted on or about the heart, the method comprising the steps of:
- discharging a capacitor network in an implantable defibrillator including first and second capacitances, the first capacitance being greater than the second capacitance, by the steps including:
- partially discharging the first capacitance in a first phase of biphasic waveform; and
- discharging the second capacitance to complete the first phase of a biphasic waveform.
- 2. The method of claim 1 further comprising the steps of:
- reversing polarity of the first capacitance and the second capacitance; and
- discharging the first capacitance and second capacitance in series.
