1. Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a dual layer golf club grip and, more particularly, to a golf club grip structure with a practical efficiency while being also speciously designed.
2. Description of the Related Art
As golf becoming more popular and the continuous research and development on techniques for golf equipment, users are demanding diversified and better quality golf equipment. A golf grip is a medium for gripping a golf club for playing golf. When a grip is held by a user, besides the comfort of gripping, an ideal grip can also enhance the effects.
Common golf club grips are made of plastic with a single layer. A golf grip is pressed against by a golf club after the club is inserted into the grip, the elasticity of the grip is reduced because of the over-tight contact between the club and the grip, thus its buffer effect against shock is also reduced. When the grip is held by a user to hit a golf ball with the club, the shock produced by swinging the club has a negative effect on an action to hit the ball. Furthermore, because plastic expands under high temperatures, the golf grip is expanded to a fixed shape by the club outer circumference, so that the tight contact between the club and the grip is adversely affected, and the grip can easily get loose or fall off because of the problem with the combination between the club and the grip. Further, the grip is usually formed with a pattern on it in one piece, the pattern exposed on an exterior surface of the grip will be worn out or will have a faded color after it has been gripped for a long period. Thus the speciously deigned exterior has become a defect instead.
Thus, an objective of the present invention is to provide a dual layer golf club grip to improve the aforementioned problems. The dual layer golf club grip of the present invention provides a golf club grip structure with a practical efficiency and is also speciously designed.
To achieve this and other objectives, a dual layer golf club grip of the present invention includes an inner layer grip and an outer layer grip. An accommodating space is former inside the inner layer grip for receiving a distal end of a golf club. The outer layer grip is attached on an outer surface of the inner layer grip. The inner and outer layer grips are respectively composed of rubber or plastic with different properties, and the outer layer grip is transparent.
Preferably, the inner layer grip is made of thermoset rubber, while the outer layer grip is made of thermoplastic and is transparent. Furthermore, at least one marking area is disposed on the outer surface of the inner layer grip for the purposes of specious design and marking. The marking area can be a type of patterns, graphics, lines, letters, or characters.
The combination of the inner and outer layer grips of the dual layer golf club grip of the present invention has the following effects:
1. The inner layer grip and the outer layer grip can be different in terms of flexibility, the less flexible layer with a high degree of rigidity is suitable for convenient assembling with a golf club, while the layer with a higher degree of flexibility is more comfortable for users to grip on and can also provide a better shock-absorbing effect which has a positive effect on hitting a golf ball.
2. The marking area is disposed on the outer surface of the inner layer grip. The patterns, graphics, lines, letters, or characters of the marking area can be clearly seen through the transparent outer layer grip after it is adhered on the outer surface of the inner layer grip. Thus, a speciously designed and delicate look is shown and the product value can also be increased. The marking area is protected from users' direct contact by the transparent outer layer grip and can, therefore, be preserved permanently.
The present invention will become clearer in light of the following detailed description of illustrative embodiments of this invention described in connection with the drawings.
The illustrative embodiment may best be described by reference to the accompanying drawings where:
All figures are drawn for ease of explanation of the basic teachings of the present invention only; the extensions of the figures with respect to number, position, relationship, and dimensions of the parts to form the preferred embodiments will be explained or will be within the skill of the art after the following teachings of the present invention have been read and understood. Further, the exact dimensions and dimensional proportions to conform to specific force, weight, strength, and similar requirements will likewise be within the skill of the art after the following teachings of the present invention have been read and understood.
A dual layer golf club grip according to the preferred teachings of the present invention is shown in
In this embodiment, the outer layer grip 20 is made of flexible plastic or rubber, and is adhered on the outer surface of the inner layer grip 10, and transparent thermoplastic is an ideal material for the outer layer grip 20.
As shown in
The inner and outer layer grips 10 and 20 of the dual layer golf club grip of the present invention are made of different rubber or plastic with different properties, and the outer layer grip 20 is transparent. Therefore, the inner and outer layer grips 10 and 20 can be matched with suitable elasticity coefficients.
In an embodiment, the outer layer grip 20 is more flexible than the inner layer grip 10, so that the less flexible inner layer grip 10 is more rigid and, thus, is suitable for convenient assembling with a golf club. Further, after the outer layer grip 20 with a higher degree of flexibility is mounted on the inner layer grip 10, it is more comfortable for users to grip on and can also provide a better shock-absorbing effect which thus has a positive effect on hitting a golf ball.
In another embodiment, the outer layer grip 20 is less flexible than the inner layer grip 10, so that the outer layer grip 20 is more durable and thus can be used for a longer period. On the other hand, the more flexible inner layer grip 10 is disposed inside which can provide a better shock-absorbing effect and buffer effect.
Because the inner layer grip 10 is made of thermoset rubber and the outer layer grip 20 is made of thermoplastic and is transparent, the inner layer grip 10 of the thermoset rubber will not deform under high temperatures after the inner layer grip 10 with the outer layer grip 20 adhered on its outer surface is mounted on a golf club. Thus, the tight contact between the dual layer golf club grip of the present invention and the club is maintained to ensure an effective combination. In addition, the flexibilities of the inner and outer layer grips 10 and 20 can be adjusted to meet various requirements of users, and therefore they can be custom-made.
Further, the marking area 11 is disposed on the outer surface of the inner layer grip 10; the colors, patterns, graphics, lines, letters or characters of the marking area 11 of the inner layer grip 10 can be clearly seen through the transparent outer layer grip 20 after it is adhered on the outer surface of the inner layer grip 10. Thus, a speciously designed and delicate look is shown, and the product value can also be increased. The marking areas 11 is protected from users' direct contact by the transparent outer layer grip 20, and therefore the patterns and colors can be preserved permanently.
The dimensions and proportions of the inner and outer layer grips 10 and 20 shown in the drawings can be set and designed according to practical requirements, such as the thicknesses of the inner and outer layer grips can be adjusted proportionally. In the drawings of the embodiment, the marking area 11 is shown as a plurality of circular patterns; however, they can also be presented as different patterns, graphics, lines, letters or characters. Thereby, the structures and designs of the inner and outer layer grips 10 and 20 allow the dual layer golf club grip to be speciously presented and has a practical efficiency, thus an innovative golf club grip is embodied.
Thus since the invention disclosed herein may be embodied in other specific forms without departing from the spirit or general characteristics thereof, some of which forms have been indicated, the embodiments described herein are to be considered in all respects illustrative and not restrictive. The scope of the invention is to be indicated by the appended claims, rather than by the foregoing description, and all changes which come within the meaning and range of equivalency of the claims are intended to be embraced therein.
