Claims
- 1. A storm door comprising:
a dual track frame bounding an interior region; a screen carried by the frame covering the interior region; and first and second panes, each slidably carried adjacent respective ones of the tracks wherein in a first configuration the panes close respective portions of the region with a minimal overlap, in a second configuration, at least one of the panes exhibits an open state whereby air can flow through a respective open portion of the screen and the panes overlap more than in the first configuration and a third configuration wherein both panes exhibit an open state whereby air can flow through respective open portions of the screen and the panes overlap more than in the second configuration.
- 2. A storm door as in claim 1 wherein the panes carry latches for latching same into a plurality of positions relative to the frame.
- 3. A storm door as in clam 1 wherein the frame includes a screen channel for locking the screen to the frame.
- 4. A storm door as in claim 3 which includes a spline which extends, at least in part, into the screen channel for attaching the screen to the frame.
- 5. A storm door as in claim 1 wherein a first pair of tracks adjacent to the screen receives a first pane of a first width and a second pair of tracks, adjacent the first pair of tracks but displaced from the screen, receives a second pane of a second, wider width wherein the first pair of tracks is sandwiched between the screen and the second pair of tracks.
- 6. A storm door as in claim 5 wherein the panes are movable, relative to one another, to a plurality of positions which permit air flow through the screen.
- 7. A multi-pane door comprising:
a rectangular frame which defines an open interior region; a spline receiving aperture in the frame, bounding the region; a screen covering the region; a spline located, in part, in the aperture clamping the screen to the frame wherein the spline has a bearing surface; an exterior pane track, adjacent to the spline, bounding at least first and second sides thereof; an exterior pane, slidable along the track in contact with the bearing surface.
- 8. A door as in claim 7 which includes an interior pane track, parallel to and adjacent to the exterior pane and further from the screen, and,
an interior pane, slidable along the interior track whereby the panes can exhibit a first state, with minimal overlaps, closing the region, and, at least a second state with greater overlap between the panes to open the screen and to provide ventilation therethrough.
- 9. A door as in claim 8 wherein ventilation can be selectively provided near first and second ends of the frame by displacing one or both panes toward the other.
- 10. A door as in claim 8 wherein a width parameter of the interior pane is greater than a width parameter of the exterior pane.
