The present invention relates generally to the field of dumbbells. More specifically, the present invention relates to a dumbbell extension weight sleeve device that can be attached to a head of a dumbbell, wherein the body is comprised of a pocket that may receive at least one weight that can add additional weight to the dumbbell. Accordingly, the present disclosure makes specific reference thereto. Nonetheless, it is to be appreciated that aspects of the present invention are also equally applicable to other like applications, devices, and methods of manufacture.
When dumbbell users require additional weight to increase the intensity of their workouts, they are typically forced to purchase entirely new sets of dumbbells. This approach not only becomes costly over time, but it also requires significant storage space, which can be a major issue for those living in homes, apartments, or other small spaces. Finding the right weight increments can also be a challenge, as specific sizes are often out of stock or difficult to locate.
The add-on weight options currently available present their own set of problems. Most attach to the inside of the dumbbell handle, reducing the grip space required for proper lifting form. This can lead to discomfort and even injury if users are unable to maintain a secure hold. Furthermore, many of these products are designed to work only with metal dumbbells, excluding users who prefer or own other materials. Another significant limitation is the amount of weight that can be added. The existing solutions are often limited in how much weight they can safely and securely hold, leaving users without a flexible option to gradually increase their strength training regimen. Additionally, the high cost of these limited add-on options further adds to the frustration of users seeking a more affordable, adaptable, and safe solution. As a result, a more effective and user-friendly solution is needed to address these common challenges.
Therefore, there exists a long-felt need in the art for an improved dumbbell weight add-on. There also exists a long-felt need in the art for a dumbbell extension weight sleeve device. In addition, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a dumbbell extension weight sleeve device that allows a user to incrementally add additional weight to a dumbbell, wherein the device is not positioned within the dumbbell such that it interferes with gripping or using the dumbbell.
The subject matter disclosed and claimed herein, in one embodiment thereof, comprises a dumbbell extension weight sleeve device. The device is comprised of a body that attaches to the head of a dumbbell or similar weight apparatus. In one embodiment, the body is made of a rigid material that snap fits around the dumbbell head, while in another embodiment, it is made from flexible materials like fabric or mesh and attaches using fasteners such as buckles, clips, or magnets. The body also comprises at least one pocket that holds a weight, allowing the user to incrementally increase the dumbbell's overall weight. The weights may vary in type and size and can be either fixed or removable, with the pockets optionally equipped with fasteners to secure the weights.
In this manner, the dumbbell extension weight sleeve device of the present invention accomplishes all the forgoing objectives and provides an improved device for adding weight to a dumbbell.
