Claims
- 1. A method for setting sound absorption properties of a chair, the method comprising the steps of:
- disposing the chair in a measuring environment;
- disposing a dummy sound absorber in the chair, said dummy sound absorber having a shape of a human being and providing a chair pressing force equivalent to the weight of the human being such that the dummy sound absorber simulates a human being seated on the chair;
- causing changes in the chair which changes are substantially equivalent to a change in the state of the chair from an unoccupied to an occupied position and a change in the sound absorption properties of the chair caused by the chair becoming occupied;
- generating a sound by a sound source away from the chair;
- measuring the sound absorption properties of the chair by a PLD/deep-well method; and
- controlling the sound absorption properties of the chair on the basis of a result of the measuring step.
- 2. A method for setting sound absorption properties of a chair, the method comprising the steps of:
- disposing the chair in a measuring environment;
- disposing a dummy sound absorber in the chair, said dummy sound absorber having a shape of a human being and providing a chair pressing force equivalent to the weight of the human being such that the dummy sound absorber simulates a human being seated on the chair;
- generating a sound by a sound source away from the chair;
- measuring the sound absorption properties of the chair by a PLD/deep-well method; and
- setting the sound absorption properties of the chair to a predetermined value on the basis of a result of the measuring step.
