Claims
- 1. An animal feeder for delivering feed to at least one animal, said animal feeder comprising:a pair of opposed, downwardly sloping sidewalls; a pair of opposed endwalls coupled to said pair of opposed, downwardly sloping sidewalls; said pair of opposed, downwardly sloping sidewalls and said pair of opposed endwalls defining an opening operable to receive the feed; a dust cover for covering at least a portion of said opening, wherein opposed peripheral edges of said dust cover are supported by contact with opposed inside surfaces of said pair of opposed, downwardly sloping sidewalls, whereby said dust cover reduces airborne particulates generated by delivery of the feed through said opening in the animal feeder; and a feed drop tube and a feed drop tube holder positioned adjacent said dust cover operable to deliver feed through said opening in the animal feeder.
- 2. The animal feeder as defined in claim 1 further comprising at least one support brace extending transversely across the opening and said dust cover includes a bracket operable to engage said support brace to removably secure said dust cover within said opening.
- 3. The animal feeder as defined in claim 2 wherein said bracket is a J-shaped bracket.
- 4. The animal feeder as defined in claim 1 wherein said pair of opposed endwalls are substantially vertical endwalls.
- 5. The animal feeder as defined in claim 1 wherein said dust cover angles downwardly as said dust cover is supported by said opposed inside surfaces of said pair of opposed, downwardly sloping sidewalls.
- 6. The animal feeder as defined in claim 1 further comprising a second dust cover positioned adjacent said feed drop tube and said feed drop tube holder, whereby said dust cover, said feed drop tube and said feed drop tube holder, and said second dust cover substantially covers said opening.
- 7. The animal feeder as defined in claim 6 wherein said dust cover and said second dust cover, each angled downwardly relative to said opening.
- 8. An animal feeder for delivering feed to at least one animal, said animal feeder comprising:a pair of opposed, downwardly sloping sidewalls; a pair of opposed, substantially vertical endwalls coupled to said pair of opposed, downwardly sloping sidewalls; said pair of opposed, downwardly sloping sidewalls and said pair of opposed, substantially vertical endwalls defining an opening operable to receive the feed; a pair of substantially parallel support braces extending transversely across said opening; and a first dust cover removably coupled to one of said support braces and a second dust cover removably coupled to one of said support braces, said first dust cover and said second dust cover are removably coupled to said support braces by way of J-shaped brackets, wherein said first and second dust covers substantially cover said opening to reduce airborne particulates generated by delivering the feed through the opening in the animal feeder.
- 9. The animal feeder as defined in claim 8 wherein opposed peripheral edges of said first cover and opposed peripheral edges of said second dust cover are supported by contact with opposed inside surfaces of said pair of opposed, downwardly sloping sidewalls.
- 10. An animal feeder for delivering feed to at least one animal, said animal feeder comprising:a pair of opposed, downwardly sloping sidewalls; a pair of opposed, substantially vertical endwalls coupled to said pair of opposed, downwardly sloping sidewalls; said pair of opposed, downwardly sloping sidewalls and said pair of opposed, substantially vertical endwalls defining an opening operable to receive the feed; a pair of substantially parallel support braces extending transversely across said opening; a first dust cover removably coupled to one of said support braces and a second dust cover removably coupled to one of said support braces, wherein said first and second dust covers substantially cover said opening to reduce airborne particulates generated by delivering the feed through the opening in the animal feeder; and a feed drop tube and a feed drop tube holder positioned between said pair of support brackets and adjacent to said first dust cover and said second dust cover.
- 11. The animal feeder as defined in claim 10 wherein said first dust cover and said second dust cover angle downwardly relative to said pair of opposed, downwardly sloping sidewalls.
- 12. An animal feeder for delivery of feed to at least one animal, said animal feeder comprising:a pair of opposed, downwardly sloping sidewalls; a pair of opposed, substantially vertical endwalls coupled to said pair of opposed, downwardly sloping sidewalls; said pair of opposed, downwardly sloping sidewalls and said pair of opposed, substantially vertical endwalls defining a substantially rectangular opening operable to receive the feed; a pair of substantially parallel support braces extending transversely across the opening; and a first dust cover having a first trapezoidal periphery and a second dust cover having a second trapezoidal periphery, at least a portion of said first trapezoidal periphery and at least a portion of said second trapezoidal periphery each contacting and being supported by opposed inside surfaces of said pair of opposed, downwardly sloping sidewall, said first dust cover includes a first J-shaped bracket and said second dust cover includes a second J-shaped bracket, said first and second J-shaped brackets operable to removably engage said substantially parallel support braces, whereby said first and second dust covers substantially reduce airborne particulates generated by delivery of the feed through said opening in the animal feeder.
- 13. The animal feeder as defined in claim 12 wherein said first dust cover and said second dust cover extend downwardly relative to said pair of opposed, downwardly sloping sidewalls.
- 14. The animal feeder as defined in claim 12 further comprising a feed drop tube holder and a feed drop tube positioned substantially between said first dust cover and said second dust cover.
- 15. An animal feeder for delivery of feed to at least one animal, said animal feeder comprising:a pair of opposed, downwardly sloping sidewalls; a pair of opposed, substantially vertical endwalls coupled to said pair of opposed, downwardly sloping sidewalls; said pair of opposed, downwardly sloping sidewalls and said pair of opposed, substantially vertical endwalls defining a substantially rectangular opening operable to receive the feed; a first dust cover having a first trapezoidal periphery and a second dust cover having a second trapezoidal periphery, at least a portion of said first trapezoidal periphery and at least a portion of said second trapezoidal periphery each contacting and being supported by opposed inside surfaces of said pair of opposed, downwardly sloping sidewall, whereby said first and second dust covers substantially reduce airborne particulates generated by delivery of the feed through said opening in the animal feeder; and a feed drop tube holder and a feed drop tube positioned substantially between said first dust cover and said second dust cover.
