Claims
- 1. A lubricious coating comprising an emulsion or dispersion of a semi-solid polymer, an acrylic polymer particle, and water.
- 2. The lubricious coating according to claim 1, wherein the emulsion comprises an anionic acrylamide polymer in water emulsified in a hydrocarbon.
- 3. The lubricious coating according to claim 2, wherein the hydrocarbon is a petroleum distillate.
- 4. The lubricious coating according to claim 1, wherein the emulsion comprises about 75% of the slurry, and the anionic acrylamide polymer comprises about 25% of the slurry.
- 5. The lubricious coating according to claim 1, having a coefficient of friction of less than about 0.01.
- 6. The lubricious coating according to claim 1, wherein the coating impedes all speeds of traffic.
- 7. The lubricious coating according to claim 1, wherein the coating is renewable such that after the coating has dried out, the coating can be restored to an anti-traction coating upon application of additional water.
- 8. The lubricious coating according to claim 1, wherein a ratio of water to slurry is about 20:1 by volume or by weight.
- 9. The lubricious coating according to claim 1, wherein a ratio of water to slurry is about 10:1 by volume or by weight.
- 10. The lubricious coating according to claim 1, wherein the film is environmentally friendly.
- 11. The lubricious coating according to claim 1, wherein the film can be dispensed on horizontal, sloping or vertical surfaces.
- 12. The lubricious coating according to claim 1, further comprising additives selected from the group of malodorants, obnoxious chemicals, colorants, and mixtures thereof.
- 13. A slurry comprising an emulsion of a polymer and hydrocarbon with polymer particles.
- 14. The slurry of claim 13, wherein the emulsion or dispersion contains a polyacrylamide dissolved in water and dispersed in an oil phase.
- 15. The slurry of claim 14, wherein the hydrocarbon is a petroleum distillate.
- 16. The slurry of claim 13, wherein the emulsion comprises about 75% of the slurry, and the anionic acrylamide polymer comprises about 25% of the slurry.
- 17. A method of producing the lubricious coating of claim 1, comprising mixing the emulsion with the acrylic polymer to form a slurry, and subsequently combining it with water.
- 18. The method according to claim 17, wherein the emulsion or dispersion contains a polyacrylamide dissolved in water and dispersed in an oil phase.
- 19. The method according to claim 18, wherein the hydrocarbon is a petroleum distillate.
- 20. The method according to claim 17, wherein the water is added to the slurry as the slurry is dispensed to a target surface.
- 21. The method according to claim 17, wherein the water is added to the slurry after the slurry is dispensed to a target surface.
- 22. The method according to claim 17, wherein the emulsion comprises about 75% of the slurry, and the anionic acrylamide polymer comprises about 25% of the slurry.
- 23. The method according to claim 17, wherein a ratio of water to slurry is about 20:1 by volume or by weight.
- 24. The method according to claim 17, wherein a ratio of water to slurry is about 10:1 by volume or by weight.
