Claims
- 1. A cosmetic composition containing: an amount of at least one compound selected from the group consisting of the compounds of the formula Ia, or Ib physiologically acceptable salts thereof and stereoisomeric forms thereof effective to treat aged, dry or irritated skin or dry flaky scalp by hydrating the skin or scalp, together with a cosmetically acceptable carrier effective for said treatment;R1 being defined as follows:a) a hydrogen atom or b) (C1-C4)-alkyl, R2 being defined as follows:a) a hydrogen atom, b) —COOH, in which R5 is1) a hydrogen atom, 2) (C1-C4)-alkyl, 3) an amino acid radical, 4) a dipeptide radical or 5) a tripeptide radical, R3 and R4 independently of one another being defined as follows:a) a hydrogen atom or b) —OH, and n is the number 1, 2, or 3.
- 2. The cosmetic composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the compound of the formula Ia or Ib is employed, R1 being defined as follows:a) a hydrogen atom or b) methyl, R2 is:a) a hydrogen atom or b) —COOH, R3 and R4 independently of one another are:a) a hydrogen atom or b) —OH, and n is the number 2.
- 3. The cosmetic composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein (S)-1,4,5,6-tetrahydro-2-methyl-4-pyrimidinecarboxylic acid and/or (S,S)-1,4,5,6-tetrahydro-5-hydroxy-2-methyl-4-pyrimidine carboxylic acid is employed.
- 4. The cosmetic composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the cosmetic product is employed in the form of a solution, a suspension, an emulsion, a paste, an ointment, a gel, a cream, a lotion, a powder, a soap, a surfactant-containing cleanser, an oil, a lipstick, a lipsalve stick, a mascara, an eyeliner, a blusher, a powder foundation, an emulsion foundation or a wax foundation, a suncare and after-sun preparation or a spray.
