Claims
- 1. Adhesively edge-padded set of sheets, the edge-padding of which is a hot-melt adhesive comprising by weight:
- 20-50% thermoplastic copolymer,
- 15-50% tackifying resin, and
- 20-605 wax having a melting point of at least 60.degree. C., said wax comprising at least 33% by weight of a paraffin wax that is a C.sub.35 -c.sub.70 substantially straight chain hydrocarbon having a melting point of at least about 84.degree. C.
- 2. The adhesively edge-padded set of sheets as defined in claim 1 wherein:
- the thermoplastic copolymer is an EVA copolymer having a melt index of from 150 to 1000,
- the tackifying resin is primarily cycloaliphatic, and
- the wax is paraffin wax having a melting point of at least 70.degree. C.
- 3. The adhesively edge-padded set of sheets as defined in claim 1 wherein said sheets are carbonless copy paper.
- 4. The adhesively edge-padded set of sheets as defined in claim 1 wherein said paraffin wax has a molecular weight (GPC) from 500 to 750 and about one lower alkyl group per molecule.
- 5. The adhesively edge-padded stack of sheets which are collated into sets and the outer face of each set has a release agent so that the stack breaks into sets upon being fanned, the edge-padding adhesive being a hot-melt adhesive which comprises by weight:
- 20-50% thermoplastic copolymer
- 15-50% hydrocarbon tackifying resin that is substantially saturated, and
- 20-60% wax having a melting point of at least 60.degree. C., said wax comprising at least 33% by weight of a paraffin wax that is a C.sub.35 -c.sub.70 substantially straight chain hydrocarbon having a melting point of at least about 84.degree. C.
- 6. The adhesively edge-padded stack of sheets as defined in claim 5 wherein:
- the thermoplastic copolymer is an EVA copolymer having a melt index of from 150 to 1000,
- the tackifying resin is primarily cycloaliphatic, and
- the wax is a paraffin wax having a melting point of at least 70.degree. C.
