Claims
- 1. A method of forming an effervescent fine liquid mist, comprising:mixing liquid and chemical reactant to chemically form non-toxic, noncombustible gas bubbles; mixing the liquid and the gas bubbles to form a two-phase fluid flow; directing the two-phase fluid flow through at least one convergent/divergent nozzle; expanding and bursting the gas bubbles in a diverging section of the nozzle; and shearing the liquid to form a liquid mist.
- 2. The method of claim 1 wherein the liquid is water.
- 3. The method of claim 2 wherein the chemical reactant is sodium bicarbonate.
- 4. The method of claim 3 wherein the gas bubbles are carbon dioxide.
- 5. The method of claim 1 wherein the directing step includes directing the two-phase fluid through a plurality of convergent/divergent nozzles.
