The present invention relates to purses and more particularly to a strap to carry the purse.
Standard fashion purses will have one of a wrist strap, a shoulder strap, a handle, or have no attachment, like a “clutch”. Other non-purse containers which may used to house possessions are worn around the neck or torso, or are attached firmly to the body, worn like a watch on the wrist or ankle, or on a shoe, and thus would not be considered by most as a purse and would not be worn to increase the wearer's fashion in public. All of these devices, both purses and non-purse containers also pose a potential safety concern if the wearer were in an activity where the non-elastic strap or purse/container became inadvertently attached to a fixed item or device while the wearer was moving away from that item, which could cause bodily harm as a result of the sudden impact of the purse/container when the nonelastic strap becomes entangled.
Conventionally, people who wanted their personal items, like keys, cell phones, credit cards, make-up, medications, etc., kept on their person during periods of activity like night club dancing, swimming, walking, running, playing sports or during weddings, either had to carry a cumbersome purse without a spare hand, a small purse which has a non-adjustable strap which does not allow security, or wear an unfashionable utilitarian box or a patch pocket container, or they had to limit their essentials to what would fit into tight pockets, underwear or shoes.
A wrist strap, designed to be attached in a fixed or removable fashion to a small to medium sized purse, to be worn over the wrist, possessing elastic properties may include an adjustable slider which can be made of metal, plastic, cloth, elastic, leather or any synthetic or natural material, which will allow the wearer the ability to cinch the purse to their wrist offering security during a variety of activities, like night club dancing, swimming, running, shopping, handling children, during weddings, or any other activity where slippage or loss would interfere with that activity.
The wrist strap may be formed of elastic, either wholly or partially, where the elastic material could be made of natural or synthetic rubber or other elastomeric materials, fashioned in solid, woven or other configuration, so as to allow a further level of safety for the wearer if aggressive contact caused the purse to be pulled from their wrist, decreasing physical harm to the wearer.
The wrist strap may be of any diameter to allow it to slip over the wearer's wrist while the adjustable slider would allow those with even the smallest wrists, including children, the ability to securely wear the purse.
A wrist strap designed to be connected to a small to medium sized purse which is fabricated partially or wholly of elastic may include a adjustable slider designed to loosen or tighten the strap for security and comfort which could be attached to the purse in a detachable fashion by utilizing a clasp of any design, allowing the wearer the ability to enter an activity with a small to medium sized “clutch” style purse having no handle, and then be able to convert it to an activity oriented purse allowing the wearer to dance or run, or manage children, simply by re-attaching the detachable wrist strap.
An adjustable elastic wrist strap to be attached to a small to medium sized purse which could be attached in a fixed or removable fashion may include fashion elements like ribbon, beads, metal brads, etc. which would add to the fashion appeal of the wrist strap without effecting the quality or function.

The present invention may include a fixed or non-destructible detachable wrist strap 2 which allows the user a safer method to carry a small to medium sized fashionable purse 1 or a sport/beach oriented purse 1, without wearing it around the trunk of the body. The present invention may be attached to the wrist of the user by a wrist strap 2 which may include a loop and which may include elastic flexible and stretchable properties. The wrist strap 2 may include an adjustable slider/buckle 3, allowing the user to adjust the length of the strap 2 so that the user can keep their purse 1 securely in the possession of the user while participating in virtually any activity, offering security.
The present invention may include a wrist strap 2 which may be formed of any material with elastic properties. This strap 2 may be of any width relative to the purse 1 it is attached. The diameter of the strap loop may be wide enough to allow the hand of the user to easy slip into it, including the space required for the slider, but could also be specially designed for children, in a smaller size. The slider 3 could be a simple adjustable bra strap slider, a fabric loop, a leather loop, a rubber O-ring or any other suitable material and design which would offer an equal function. The slider 3 of the present invention may allow for easy adjustability of the strap 3 giving the user the ability to change the fit of the wrist strap 2 relative to the activity they are participating in, from simply shopping to night club dancing. Because the wrist strap 2 may be elastic, strap 2 may be cinched to the wrist of the user and still be able to be pulled off by stretching in emergency situations, lessening the potential for bodily harm, offering safety. The present invention may include a receiving element 5 which may be a ring or screw receptor fastened to the purse for connection to the detachable element 4. The receiving element 5 may be made of plastic, metal, leather, cloth or other material. The strap 2 could be simple in design or could be adorn with fashion elements like ribbon, beads, metal brads, etc. which would add to the fashion appeal of the wrist strap 2 without effecting the quality or function.
An adjustable wrist strap for a purse, either fashion or athletic or both, which would be made either wholly or partially of an elastic material, with an adjustable slider to allow the user to adjust the wrist strap to the ideal size that is required by whatever activity they are participating in at that moment, such as night club dancing, jogging, amusement parks or activities like a wedding, where a potential of slippage or loss of the purse would interfere with the activity. The strap is attached in a fixed/permanent or removable fashion to a small to medium sized purse, in a standard diameter so that people can slide it over their hand. Secondarily, the wrist band may be made of one or more materials with at least one having elastic properties, not only allowing for comfortable use, but also allowing the ability to be pulled off by stretching in emergency situations, protecting the wearer from possible severe harm.
