Abstract
An elastic spherical hand muscle developer is constructed having an elastic spherical body formed of an inner layer and an outer layer, an air chamber defined within the spherical body and surrounded by the inner layer, an air valve embedded in the spherical body and adapted for pumping air into the air chamber, and at least one handle formed of a part of the inner layer and outer layer of the spherical body, each handle defining a through hole for the insertion of the hand.
Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates to an elastic spherical hand muscle developer and, more particularly, to such a spherical hand muscle developer, which has two handles, formed of a part of the spherical body thereof at two sides for the holding of the hand(s).

[0002] Various spherical hand muscle developers are commercially available for exercising the muscles of the hands. These spherical hand muscle developers are commonly molded from rubber materials. During exercises, the spherical hand muscle developer may slip from the hand. There is known a spherical hand muscle developer having hand guard means adapted for preventing slipping of the spherical hand muscle developer from the user's hand. However, the formation of the hand guard means greatly increases the manufacturing cost of the spherical hand muscle developer.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0003] The present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. It is one object of the present invention to provide an elastic spherical hand muscle developer, which is inexpensive to manufacture. It is still another object of the present invention to provide a hand muscle developer, which has handle means integral with the spherical body thereof. To achieve these and other objects of the present invention, the elastic spherical hand muscle developer comprises an elastic spherical body formed of an inner layer and an outer layer, an air chamber defined within the spherical body and surrounded by the inner layer, an air valve embedded in the spherical body and adapted for pumping air into the air chamber, and at least one handle formed of a part of the inner layer and outer layer of the spherical body. Each handle defines a through hole for the insertion of the hand, having two smoothly arched inner faces disposed at two sides of the corresponding through hole.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0004]
FIG. 1 illustrates the outer appearance of an elastic spherical hand muscle developer according to the present invention.

[0005]
FIG. 2 is a plain view, partially in section, of the elastic spherical hand muscle developer according to the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0006] Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, an elastic spherical hand muscle developer is shown comprising an elastic spherical body 1, an air chamber 3 defined within the spherical body 1, and a handle 2 integral with the spherical body 1.

[0007] The spherical body 1 is molded from vulcanized rubber material, comprising an inner layer 11 surrounding the air chamber 3 and an outer layer 12 covering the inner layer 11. The spherical body 1 can be prepared in different diameters to fit different users. The spherical body 1 further comprises an air valve 13. The air valve 13 comprises an elongated valve body 132 embedded in the inner layer 11 and the outer layer 12, and a protruded valve flap portion 131 extended from the inner end of the elongated valve body 132 and suspended in the air chamber 3. The user can insert the air nozzle of an air pump into the air valve 13 and then operate the air pump to pump air into the air chamber 3.

[0008] The aforesaid handle 2 is formed of a part of the inner layer 11 and a part of the outer layer 12, keeping the periphery 14 of the hand muscle developer in a spherical shape. The handle 2 defines a through hole 21 through the spherical body 1 through which the user inserts the hand to hold the handle 2. The handle 2 has two opposite inner faces 22 and 23 disposed at two sides of the through hole 21 and smoothly arched so that the user can holds the handle 2 positively and comfortably with the hand.

[0009] A second handle 2′ may be formed in the spherical body 1 at an opposite side symmetrical to the handle 2. Similarly, the second handle 2′ comprises a through hole 21′, and two opposite inner faces 22′ and 23′ at two sides of the through hole 21′. The handles 2 and 2′ can be made having different sizes.

[0010] A prototype of elastic spherical hand muscle developer has been constructed with the features of the annexed drawings of FIGS. 1 and 2. The spherical hand muscle developer functions smoothly to provide all of the features discussed earlier.

[0011] Although a particular embodiment of the invention has been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Accordingly, the invention is not to be limited except as by the appended claims.
