- 2. An electric rotating machine according to claim 1, further comprising:
- means for preventing radially outward movement of said first upper and lower coil arms.
- 3. An electric rotating machine according to claim 2, wherein said preventing means includes:
- a collar mounted on said shaft and pressing said the second ends of said first upper coil arms towards said first axial side end of said armature core.
- 4. An electric rotating machine according to claim 2, wherein said preventing means includes:
- a cylindrical ring made of nonmagnetic material and mounted circumferentially on an outer periphery of said first end parts of said upper coil trunks at a side of said first axial end of said armature core.
- 5. An electric rotating machine according to claim 1, wherein said second upper coil arms and said upper coil trunks are formed integrally, said second lower coil arms and said lower coil trunks are formed integrally, and said second upper coil arms are substantially in operative contact with said second lower coil arms through another insulation layer.
- 6. An electric rotating machine according to claim 2, wherein said second upper coil arms and said upper coil trunks are formed integrally, and said second lower coil arms and said lower coil trunks are formed integrally.
- 7. An electric rotating machine according to claim 1, wherein:
- first clearance grooves are formed by adjacent two of said first upper coil arms in a substantially spiral or radial shape extending in a direction opposite to a rotational direction of said armature core from a radially inner periphery to a radially outer periphery, said first clearance grooves providing first air flow paths when said armature core is rotated; and
- second clearance grooves are formed by adjacent two of said second upper coil arms in a substantially spiral or radial shape extending in a direction same as the rotational direction of said armature core from a radially inner periphery to a radially outer periphery, said second clearance grooves providing second air flow paths when said armature core is rotated.
- 8. An electric rotating machine according to claim 7, wherein a depth of said first clearance grooves is substantially equal to a thicknesses of said first upper coil arms.
- 9. An electric rotating machine comprising:
- an armature core including axially extending slots and having first and second axial side ends;
- a shaft rotatably supporting said armature core;
- upper coil trunks and lower coil trunks housed within said slots of said armature core, said upper coil trunks and lower coil trunks each having first and second end parts;
- first and second lower coil arms each having first and second end parts, said first and second lower coil arms being electrically connected at first end parts thereof to first and second end parts, respectively, of said lower coil trunks and disposed substantially perpendicularly to said shaft, said first and second lower coil arms extending towards said shaft along said first and second axial side ends of said armature core, respectively;
- an inner insulator disposed in contact with said second lower coil arms and said second axial side end of said armature core;
- first and second upper coil arms electrically connected at first end parts thereof to first and second end parts, respectively, of said upper coil trunks and disposed substantially perpendicularly to said shaft, said first and second upper coil arms extending towards said shaft along said first and second axial side ends of said armature core, respectively, and said first and second upper coil arms being connected at the second end parts thereof to the second end parts of said first and second lower coil arms, respectively;
