Claims
- 1. A switching device including three connector terminals aligned along a substantially common axis to define opposite outside terminals and an intermediate terminal, a pair of switches each having a pair of contacts including a fixed contact and a movable contact, said switches having open and closed positions, means for moving said switches between said open and closed positions, a fixed contact in one of said switches being connected with one of said outside terminals, a movable contact in the other of said switches being connected with the other of said outside terminals, and the movable contact in said one switch and the fixed contact in said other switch being connected with said intermediate terminal.
- 2. The device of claim 1 wherein said intermediate terminal has a longitudinal axis and extends from a base portion of a terminal member, and a pair of ears extending laterally of said base portion transversely of said longitudinal axis, said ears being spaced-apart from one another in directions extending both transverse and parallel to said longitudinal axis.
- 3. The device of claim 2 wherein said fixed contact is mounted on one of said ears and said movable contact is mounted on the other of said ears.
- 4. A terminal member having a base portion, a connector terminal extending from said base portion and having a longitudinal axis, a pair of ears extending transversely of said base portion and of said longitudinal axis, and said ears being spaced-apart from one another in directions extending both transverse and parallel to said longitudinal axis.
- 5. The terminal member of claim 4 including a fixed contact mounted on one of said ears and a movable contact mounted on the other of said ears.
- 6. The terminal member of claim 5 wherein said movable contact is on a movable arm mounted on said other ear, said fixed and movable contacts being in alignment.
- 7. The terminal member of claim 6 wherein said connector terminal has width and thickness dimensions and said movable arm extends generally parallel to said width dimension.
- 8. The terminal member of claim 6 wherein said connector terminal is located intermediate said ears.
- 9. An electrical device including a housing having a longitudinal axis, at least three differently shaped one-piece stationary terminal members, means for mounting said terminal members in said housing at different mounting locations all of which are spaced both axially and circumferentially from one another, said means for mounting including a plurality of steps within said housing, all of said steps being spaced both axially and circumferentially from one another, each of said terminal members having a mounting base portion positioned against one of said steps, fastener means cooperating with each said mounting base portion and its associated step for attaching said terminal members to said housing, said terminal members having connector terminals integral with said mounting base portions and projecting externally of said housing, said connector terminals being aligned along and lying on a common axis extending substantially perpendicular to said longitudinal axis and to said connector terminals.
- 10. The device of claim 9 wherein said connector terminals are equidistantly spaced from one another along said common axis.
- 11. A switching device including three connector terminals aligned along a substantially common axis to define opposite outside terminals and an intermediate terminal, a pair of switches each having a pair of contacts including a fixed contact and a movable contact, said switches having open and closed positions, means for moving said switches between said open and closed positions, said fixed contacts in each of said switches being connected with one of said outside terminals, said movable contact in one of said switches being connected with the other of said outside terminals, said movable contact in the other of said switches being connected with said intermediate terminal, all of said contacts being aligned along a common longitudinal axis, said fixed contacts being spaced-apart from one another along said axis, and one of said movable contacts being located between said fixed contacts and the other of said movable contacts being located outside of said fixed contacts.
