Claims
- 1. A cyano-condensation resin obtained by heating one or more bisorthodinitriles of the general formula: ##STR14## where R is selected from the class consisting of ##STR15## to a temperature above the melting point thereof.
- 2. A cyano-condensation resin obtained by mixing one or more bisorthodinitriles of the general formula: ##STR16## wherein R is selected from the class consisting of ##STR17## with a metal selected from the class consisting of chromium, molybdenum, vanadium, beryllium, silver, mercury, aluminum, tin, lead, antimony, calcium, barium, manganese, magnesium, zinc, copper, iron, cobalt, nickel, palladium, and platinum and heating said mixture above the melting point of said bisorthodinitriles.
- 3. The cyano-condensation resin of claim 2 wherein said bisorthodinitrile is p-phthalaldehyde.
- 4. The cyano-condensation resin of claim 2 wherein said bisorthodinitrile is m-phthalaldehyde.
- 5. The cyano-condensation resin of claim 2 wherein said metal is selected from the class consisting of silver, copper, and iron.
- 6. The cyano-condensation resin of claim 2 wherein said metal is copper and said bisorthodinitrile is bis(3,4-dicyanoaniline) N,N'-p-xylylenediidene.
- 7. A cyano-condensation resin obtained by mixing one or more bisorthodinitriles of the general formula: ##STR18## wherein R is selected from the class consisting of ##STR19## with a salt selected from the class consisting of cuprous chloride, cuprous bromide, cuprous cyanide, cuprous ferricyanide, zinc chloride, zinc bromide, zinc iodide, zinc cyanide, ferrocyanide, zinc acetate, zinc sulfide, silver chloride, ferrous chloride, ferric chloride, ferrous ferricyanide, ferrous chloroplatinate, ferrous fluoride, ferrous sulfate, cobaltous chloride, cobaltic sulfate, cobaltous cyanide, nickel chloride, nickel cyanide, nickel sulfate, nickel carbonate, stannic chloride, stannous chloride hydride, a complex of triphenylphosphine oxide and stannous chloride (2TPPO/SnCl.sub.2) and heating said mixture above the melting point of said bisorthodinitrile.
- 8. The semiconductor resin obtained by heating the cyano-condensation resin of claim 1 to a temperature from 350.degree. C. to 500.degree. C. for at least 12 hours in an inert atmosphere.
- 9. The semiconductor resin obtained by heating the cyano-condensation resin of claim 2 at temperature from 350.degree. C. to 500.degree. C. for at least 12 hours in an inert atmosphere.
- 10. The semiconductor resin obtained by heating the cyano-condensation resin of claim 7 at a temperature from 350.degree. C. to 500.degree. C. for at least 12 hours in an inert atmopshere.
