Claims
- 1. An electrical connection box comprising:
- a casing including an upper casing, and a lower casing, and a plurality of terminal holes formed on its outer wall;
- an insulating plate mounted in the casing having a plurality of wiring grooves formed on both of its opposite faces;
- a plurality of terminal driving portions, each obtained by increasing a width of each of the wiring grooves, provided at predetermined locations of each of the wiring grooves;
- a plurality of wires, including first and second diameter wires having first and second diameters, respectively, said first diameter being smaller than said second diameter, inserted into and held in the wiring grooves;
- a plurality of pressing contact terminals, including first and second pressing contact terminals having first and second lengths, respectively, said first length being shorter than said second length, and each of which includes a pressing contact portion and an input-output terminal portion formed at its opposite ends, respectively; and
- the pressing contact portion being driven into said insulating plate into each of the terminal driving portions to connect, through pressing contact, to each of the wires held in the wiring grooves, such that said terminals having said first and second lengths engage said wires having said first and second diameters, respectively, while the input-output terminal portion projects out of each of the terminal holes to connect to an external circuit, wherein the wiring grooves include first wiring grooves formed on the one of the opposite faces of the insulating plate and second wiring grooves formed on a face of a boss projecting from a portion of the other of the opposite faces of the insulating plate and the terminal driving portions include first and second terminal driving portions formed at the first and second wiring grooves, respectively.
- 2. An electrical connection box as claimed in claim 1, wherein the first and second diameter wires are, respectively, inserted into the first and second wiring grooves.
- 3. An electrical connection box as claimed in claim 1, wherein a fuse fitting portion is provided at a portion of an outer surface of the casing corresponding to the second wiring grooves;
- wherein the pressing contact portions of the second pressing contact terminals are connected to a power source circuit formed by the second diameter wires inserted into the second wiring grooves, and the input-output terminal portions of the second pressing contact terminals project out of the terminal holes of the fuse fitting portion to connect with fuses in the fuse fitting portion, respectively; and
- wherein the pressing contact portions of the first pressing contact terminals are connected to a load circuit formed by the first diameter wires inserted into the first wiring grooves and the input-output terminal portions of the first pressing contact terminals project out of the terminal holes of a connector portion formed on the outer surface of the casing to connect with connectors in the connector portion, respectively.
- 4. An electrical connection box comprising:
- a casing including an upper casing and a lower casing, and a plurality of terminal holes formed on its outer wall;
- an insulating plate mounted in the casing having a plurality of wiring grooves formed on both of its opposite faces;
- a plurality of terminal driving portions, each obtained by increasing a width of each of the wiring grooves, provided at predetermined locations of each of the wiring grooves;
- a plurality of wires, including first and second diameter wires having first and second diameters, respectively, said first diameter being smaller than said second diameter, inserted into and held in the wiring grooves;
- a plurality of pressing contact terminals, including first and second pressing contact terminals having first and second lengths, respectively, said first length being shorter than said second length, and each of which includes a pressing contact portion and an input-output terminal portion formed at its opposite ends, respectively;
- the pressing contact portion being driven into said insulating plate into each of the terminal driving portions to connect, through pressing contact, to each of the wires held in the wiring grooves, such that said terminals having said first and second lengths engage said wires having said first and second diameters, respectively, while the input-output terminal portion projects out of each of the terminal holes to connect to an external circuit;
- a plurality of joint terminals each of which has first and second electrical contact portions formed at its opposite ends, respectively and is secured to the insulating plate; and
- wherein the wiring grooves include first and second wiring grooves formed on the opposite faces of the insulating plate, respectively and the first and second electrical contact portions of each of the joint terminals are, respectively, projected into the first and second wiring grooves so as to be connected, through pressing contact, to the wires laid in the first and second wiring grooves.
- 5. An electrical connection box as claimed in claim 4, wherein at least one of the first and second electrical contact portions has a further electrical contact portion.
- 6. An electrical connection box as claimed in claim 4, wherein each of the first and second electrical contact portions includes a pair of contact portions spaced from each other an interval equal to a diameter of a conductor of each of the wires and a pair of oblique portions extending from the contact portions and spaced further away from each other towards a distal end of each of the first and second electrical contact portions.
- 7. An electrical connection box comprising:
- a casing including an upper casing and a lower casing, and a plurality of terminal holes formed on its outer wall;
- an insulating plate mounted in the casing having a plurality of wiring grooves formed on both of its opposite faces;
- a plurality of terminal driving portions, each obtained by increasing a width of each of the wiring grooves, provided at predetermined locations of each of the wiring grooves;
- a plurality of wires, including first and second diameter wires having first and second diameters, respectively, said first diameter being smaller than said second diameter, inserted into and held in the wiring grooves;
- a plurality of pressing contact terminals, including first and second pressing contact terminals having first and second lengths, respectively, said first length being shorter than said second length, and each of which includes a pressing contact portion and an input-output terminal portion formed at its opposite ends, respectively; and
- the pressing contact portion being driven into said insulating plate into each of the terminal driving portions to connect, through pressing contact, to each of the wires held in the wiring grooves, such that said terminals having said first and second lengths engage said wires having said first and second diameters, respectively, while the input-output terminal portion projects out of each of the terminal holes to connect to an external circuit, wherein
- the wiring grooves include a third wiring groove having a small groove portion for receiving each of the first diameter wires and a large groove portion for receiving each of the second diameter wires, and
- wherein the large groove portion is formed at a mouth of the small groove portion to form the third wiring groove into a stepped shaped such that the first diameter wire and the second diameter wire are piled on each other in the third wiring groove.
- 8. An electrical connection box as claimed in claim 7, wherein a middle groove portion for receiving a third diameter wire having a diameter between that of the first and second diameter wires is provided between the small groove portion and that large groove portion of the third wiring groove so as to form the third wiring groove into a three-step shape.
- 9. An electrical connection box as claimed in claim 7, wherein a pair of the large groove portions open to the opposite faces of the insulating plate, respectively and the small groove portion is provided at a central portion of the insulating plate in a direction of a thickness of the insulating plate so as to be interposed between the large groove portions.
- 10. An electrical connection box as claimed in claim 8, wherein a pair of the large groove portions open to the opposite faces of the insulating plate, respectively and the small groove portion is provided at a central portion of the insulating plate in a direction of a thickness of the insulating plate so as to be interposed between the large groove portions.
- 11. An electrical connection box as claimed in claim 7, wherein a large slot portion for each of the second diameter wires and a small slot portion for each of the first diameter wires are formed in a stepped shape continuously at the pressing contact portion of the pressing contact terminal for the third wiring groove such that the large slot portion is disposed at a distal end of the pressing contact portion of the pressing contact terminal for the third wiring groove; and
- wherein the distal end of the pressing contact terminal for the third wiring groove is driven into the terminal driving portion for the third wiring groove from one of the opposite faces of the insulating plate adjacent to the small groove portion so as to be connected, through pressing contact, to the first and second diameter wires laid in the third wiring groove.
- 12. An electrical connection box comprising:
- a casing including an upper casing and a lower casing, and a plurality of terminal holes formed on its outer wall;
- an insulating plate mounted in the casing having a plurality of wiring grooves formed on both of its opposite faces;
- a plurality of terminal driving portions, each obtained by increasing a width of each of the wiring grooves, provided at predetermined locations of each of the wiring grooves;
- a plurality of wires, including first and second diameter wires having first and second diameters, respectively, said first diameter being smaller than said second diameter, inserted into and held in the wiring grooves;
- a plurality of pressing contact terminals, including first and second pressing contact terminals having first and second lengths, respectively, said first length being shorter than said second length, and each of which includes a pressing contact portion and an input-output terminal portion formed at its opposite ends, respectively; and
- the pressing contact portion being driven into said insulating plate into each of the terminal driving portions to connect, through pressing contact, to each of the wires held in the wiring grooves, such that said terminals having said first and second lengths engage said wires having said first and second diameters, respectively, while the input-output terminal portion projects out of each of the terminal holes to connect to an external circuit, wherein each of the pressing contact terminals is formed by an electrically conductive metal plate;
- wherein a first slot is formed at the pressing contact portion and is thrust into an insulating coating of the wire so as to be connected to a conductor of the wire and a U-shaped portion having a second slot for receiving a platelike male terminal is provided at the input-output terminal portion;
- wherein the second slot is formed at a widthwise central portion of the U-shaped portion and extends over a predetermined distance from an upper end of the U-shaped portion to two legs of the U-shaped portion.
- 13. An electrical connection box as claimed in claim 12, wherein the second slot of each of the pressing contact terminals has a pair of circular portions formed at its opposite ends.
- 14. An electrical connection box comprising:
- a casing including an upper casing and a lower casing having a plurality of terminal holes formed on its outer wall;
- an insulating plate mounted in said casing and having a plurality of wiring grooves formed on at least one of its opposite faces;
- a plurality of terminal driving portions, each obtained by increasing a width of each of said plurality of wiring grooves, provided at predetermined locations of each of said plurality of wiring grooves;
- a plurality of wires inserted into, and held in, said plurality of wiring grooves;
- a plurality of pressing contact terminals, each including a pressing contact portion and an input-output terminal portion formed at its opposite ends, respectively, said pressing contact portion being driven into each of said terminal driving portions so as to be connected, through pressing contact, to each of said plurality of wires held in said plurality of wiring grooves, while said input-output terminal portion is projected out of each of said terminal holes so as to be connected to an external circuit; and
- said plurality of wiring grooves including first wiring grooves formed on one of said opposite faces of said insulating plate and second wiring grooves formed on a face of a boss projecting from the other of said opposite faces of said insulating plate; and
- said terminal driving portions including first and second driving portions formed at said first and second wiring grooves, respectively.
- 15. An electrical connection box comprising:
- a casing including an upper casing and a lower casing having a plurality of terminal holes formed on its outer wall;
- an insulating plate mounted in said casing and having a plurality of wiring grooves formed on at least one of its opposite faces;
- a plurality of terminal driving portions, each obtained by increasing a width of each of said plurality of wiring grooves, provided at predetermined locations of each of said plurality of wiring grooves;
- a plurality of wires inserted into, and held in, said plurality of wiring grooves;
- a plurality of pressing contact terminals, each including a pressing contact portion and an input-output terminal portion formed at its opposite ends, respectively, said pressing contact portion being driven into each of said terminal driving portions so as to be connected, through pressing contact, to each of said plurality of wires held in said plurality of wiring grooves, while said input-output terminal portion is projected out of each of said terminal holes so as to be connected to an external circuit;
- a plurality of joint terminals secured to said insulating plate, each having first and second contact portions formed at opposite ends; and
- said plurality of wiring grooves including first and second wiring grooves formed on said opposite faces of said insulating plate, said first and second contact portions projecting into said first and second wiring grooves to connect to wires laid in said first and second wiring grooves.
- 16. An electrical connection box comprising:
- a casing including an upper casing and a lower casing having a plurality of terminal holes formed on its outer wall;
- an insulating plate mounted in said casing and having a plurality of wiring grooves formed on at least one of its opposite faces;
- a plurality of terminal driving portions, each obtained by increasing a width of each of said plurality of wiring grooves, provided at predetermined locations of each of said plurality of wiring grooves;
- a plurality of wires, including first and second diameter wires having first and second diameters, respectively, said first diameter being smaller than said second diameter, inserted into and held in said plurality of wiring grooves;
- a plurality of pressing contact terminals, each including a pressing contact portion and an input-output terminal portion formed at its opposite ends, respectively, said pressing contact portion being driven into each of said terminal driving portions so as to be connected, through pressing contact, to each of said plurality of wires held in said plurality of wiring grooves, while said input-output terminal portion is projected out of each of said terminal holes so as to be connected to an external circuit; and
- said plurality of wiring grooves including a dedicated wiring groove having a small groove portion for receiving each of the first diameter wires and a large groove portion for receiving each of the second diameter wires, said large groove portion being formed at a mouth of said small groove portion to form said dedicated wiring groove into a stepped shape such that said first diameter wire and said second diameter wire are piled on each other in said dedicated wiring groove.
- 17. An electrical connection box comprising:
- a casing including an upper casing and a lower casing having a plurality of terminal holes formed on its outer wall;
- an insulating plate mounted in said casing and having a plurality of wiring grooves formed on at least one of its opposite faces;
- a plurality of terminal driving portions, each obtained by increasing a width of each of said plurality of wiring grooves, provided at predetermined locations of each of said plurality of wiring grooves;
- a plurality of wires inserted into and held in said plurality of wiring grooves;
- a plurality of metal plate pressing contact terminals, each including a pressing contact portion and an input-output terminal portion formed at its opposite ends, respectively, said pressing contact portion having a slot driven into each of said terminal driving portions to connect, through pressing contact, to each of said plurality of wires, through an insulation coating, in said plurality of wiring grooves, while said input-output terminal portion projects out of each of said terminal holes to connect to an external circuit; and
- said pressing contact portion of said plurality of terminals having a pair of notches, formed on opposite outer sides, which expand outwardly when engaging the wires to bite into opposed faces of said plurality of wiring grooves.
- 18. An electrical connection box comprising:
- a casing including an upper casing and a lower casing having a plurality of terminal holes formed on its outer wall;
- an insulating plate mounted in said casing and having a plurality of wiring grooves formed on at least one of its opposite faces;
- a plurality of terminal driving portions, each obtained by increasing a width of each of said plurality of wiring grooves, provided at predetermined locations of each of said plurality of wiring grooves;
- a plurality of wires inserted into and held in said plurality of wiring grooves;
- a plurality of metal pressing contact terminals, each including a pressing contact portion and an input-output terminal portion formed at its opposite ends, respectively, said pressing contact portion being driven into each of said terminal driving portions so as to be connected, through pressing contact, to each of said plurality of wires held in said plurality of wiring grooves, while said input-output terminal portion is projected out of each of said terminal holes so as to be connected to an external circuit; and
- said plurality of terminals having a first slot at the pressing contact portion to engage a wire, and a U-shaped portion having a second slot at the input-output terminal for engaging a plate-like male terminal, said second slot being formed at a widthwise central portion of the U-shaped portion, and extends over a predetermined distance from an upper end of said U-shaped portion to two legs of said U-shaped portion.
