Claims
- 1. A method for obtaining information useful to inspect a portion of a metallic casing surrounded by a geological formation at a desired depth from the surface of the earth, comprising:
providing at least three vertically spaced apart electrodes disposed within the metallic casing at the desired depth from the surface of the earth; conducting a substantially constant current through the portion of the casing to be inspected; measuring voltage differences between said vertically spaced apart electrodes in response to said current; and processing said voltage differences.
- 2. The method as recited in claim 1 wherein said conducting step is performed using circuitry responsive to said current.
- 3. The method as recited in claim 2 wherein said circuitry is used in amplifying said voltage differences.
