Claims
- 1. In a cell for producing aluminum by electrolysis in a molten salt, an electrically conductive connection for an electrode assembly of the cell, said electrically conductive connection comprising an electrode flask and a conductor rod, said flask defining an area of minimum flask diameter and a collar above the area of minimum flask diameter, said electrically conductive connection further comprising means bearing against the collar and the conductor rod for pulling the conductor rod into compressive and electrical contact with the flask.
- 2. The electrically conductive connection as claimed in claim 1, wherein the flask further defines a cavity partially surrounded by the area of minimum flask diameter and the collar, and an interface surface within the cavity, and wherein the conductor rod defines an interface surface which contacts the flask at its interface surface within the cavity.
- 3. In a cell for producing aluminum by electrolysis in a molten salt, an electrically conductive connection for an electrode assembly of the cell, said electrically conductive connection comprising an electrode flask and a conductor rod, said flask defining a collar, a cavity partially surrounded by the collar and an interface surface within the cavity, said conductor rod also defining an interface surface, said electrically conductive connection further comprising means for pulling the conductor rod into compressive and electrical contact with the flask within the cavity and at the interface surfaces.
