Claims
- 1. A method of producing an electrode having one or more threads applied to the surface, comprising applying said threads to an underlying structure by means of a plurality of contactlessly welded fixing points along each thread.
- 2. A method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the welding operation is effected in lateral direction at an angle to the contact surface of the underlying electrode structure from about 5.degree. to about 60.degree..
- 3. A method as claimed in claim 2, wherein the welding operation is effected by laser welding.
- 4. A method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the threads have a thickness from about 0.05 to about 5 mm.
- 5. A method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the threads have a thickness from about 0.05 to about 3 mm.
- 6. A method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the threads are applied such that the distance between them is from about 0.1.multidot.d to about 4.multidot.d, d being the thickness of said threads.
- 7. A method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the threads are applied such as the distance between them is from about 0.2.multidot.d to about 2.multidot.d, d being the thickness of said threads.
- 8. A method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the threads are applied so as to form substantially parallel channels on the electrode surface.
- 9. A method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the welding operation is effected in lateral direction substantially perpendicularly to the long sides of the threads.
- 10. A method as claimed in claim 2, wherein the welding operation is effected at an angle to the contact surface of the underlaying electrode structure from about 15.degree. to about 45.degree..
- 11. A method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the welding operation is effected by laser welding.
- 12. A method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the welding operation is effected with a pulsed laser.
- 13. A method as claimed in claim 1, wherein threads are applied to the surface of an existing electrode.
- 14. A method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the underlying structure comprises through openings.
- 15. A method as claimed in claim 1, wherein threads are applied to the surface of a louver-type electrode.
- 16. A method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the threads and the underlying structure are made of titanium or a titanium alloy.
