Claims
- 1. Electrolytic salts having the formula
- 2. An electrolytic salt of claim 1 having the formula lithium bis(malonato)borate.
- 3. An electrolytic salt of claim 1 having the formula lithium bis(succinato)borate.
- 4. An electrolytic of claim 1 having the lithium (malonato oxalato borate).
- 5. An electrolytic salt of claim 1 having the formula bis(methylenedisulfonato)borate.
- 6. An electrolytic salt of claim 1 having the formula bis(methylenedisulfonato)borate.
- 7. An electrolytic salt of claim 1 having the formula lithium bis(sulfoacetato)borate.
- 8. An electrolytic salt of claim 1 having the formula selected from the group comprising lithium bis(hexafluoropropylenediolato)borate and 1,2-tetra(trifluoromethyl)ethylenedialato(2-)O,O′.
- 9. A method of making a compound of claim 1 comprising providing a fluoro-substituted diol or dibasic acid form of said Y1 and Y2, and combining said fluoro-substituted diol or dibasic acid form with M hydroxide and boric acid under conditions whereby Y1 and Y2 bind pairwise to oxygens in said anion.
- 10. Electrolytic salts produced by the method of claim 9.
- 11. A method of making an electrolytic salt of claim 1 comprising providing:
a. di(methylsilyl)Y1 and di(methylsilyl)Y2; and b. alkoxy orthoborate salt; and c. combining said di(methylsilyl)Y1, said di(methylsilyl)Y2; and said alkoxy orthoborate salt under conditions whereby said electrolytic salt is formed.
- 12. The method of claim 11 wherein said alkoxy orthoborate salt is lithium tetramethanolatoborate.
- 13. Electrolytic salts made by the method of claim 11.
- 14. The electrolytic salt lithium bis (oxalato borate) produced by the method of claim 11.
- 15. An electrolytic salt of claim 1 in a non-aqueous solvent.
- 16. An electrolytic salt of claim 15 wherein said solvent is selected from the group comprising ethylene carbonate, propylene carbonate, butylene carbonate, dimethyl carbonate, diethyl carbonate 1,2-dimethoxyethane,1,2-diethoxyethane, dimethylsulfoxide and dimethyl sulfone (DMS), ethylmethylsulfone (EMS), γ-butyrolactone or mixtures thereof.
- 17. The electrolytic salt lithium bis (oxalato borate) in a non-aqueous solvent wherein said solvent is selected from the group comprising ethylene carbonate, propylene carbonate, butylene carbonate, dimethyl carbonate, diethyl carbonate 1,2-dimethoxyethane,1,2-diethoxyethane, dimethylsulfoxide, dimethyl sulfone (DMS), ethylmethylsulfone (EMS), γ-butyrolactone or mixtures thereof.
- 18. A conductive polymeric gel comprising an electrolyte of claim 1.
- 19. A conductive polymeric gel comprising lithium bis (oxalato borate).
- 20. An electrolytic salt of claim 1 in a lithium battery.
- 21. A conductive electrolytic salt of claim 15 in a lithium battery.
- 22. A conductive polymeric gel of claim 18 in a lithium battery.
