Claims
- 1. An electromagnetic fuel injection valve for use in an internal combustion engine, said valve comprising:
- a valve body provided therein with a cylindrical interior space serving as a fuel passage and having a valve seat formed on an end portion thereof;
- a valve member incorporated within said valve body and having an end portion provided with a contact end portion to be contacted with said valve seat;
- actuator means for actuating said valve member between a closed position and an open position;
- two separate guide portions formed at an upstream position and a downstream position of said valve member, respectively, said guide portions contacting said cylindrical interior space to guide a movement of said valve member; and
- metering means, provided on said valve member between said two guide portions to define a gap between said cylindrical interior space and said metering means,
- wherein a minimum metering gap is formed between the end portion of said valve body and the end portion of said valve member when said valve member is in said open position, so that fuel is injected from said fuel injection valve due to a predetermined pressure loss generated in said gap and a pressure loss generated in said minimum metering gap.
- 2. An electromagnetic fuel injection valve according to claim 1, wherein each of said guide portions has a contact portion to be contacted with said cylindrical interior space of said valve body, and wherein said contact portion has a larger diameter than a diameter of said metering means.
- 3. An electromagnetic fuel injection valve according to claim 1, wherein each of said guide portions has a plurality of contact portions which project radially outwardly and contact said cylindrical interior space of said valve body, and flat portions provided between said contact portions of said guide portion, said fuel passage being between said cylindrical interior space of said valve body and said flat portions.
- 4. An electromagnetic fuel injection valve according to claim 1, wherein said valve body is provided at the other end portion thereof and opposed to said end portion thereof with an opening through which said valve member is inserted and fuel is supplied.
- 5. An electromagnetic fuel injection valve for use in an internal combustion engine, said valve comprising:
- a valve body provided therein with a cylindrical interior space serving as a fuel passage and having a valve seat formed on an end portion thereof;
- a valve member incorporated within said valve body and having an end portion provided with a contact end portion to be contacted with said valve seat;
- actuator means for actuating said valve member between a closed position and an open position;
- two separate guide portions formed at an upstream position and a downstream position of said valve member, respectively, said guide portions contacting said cylindrical interior space to guide a movement of said valve member; and
- a radially outwardly enlarged portion integrally formed on said valve member between said two guide portions;
- wherein a first minimum metering gap is formed between the end portion of said valve body and the end portion of said valve member, and a second minimum metering gap is formed between said enlarged portion and said cylindrical interior space of said valve body when said valve member is in said open position, fuel thereby being injected from said fuel injection valve due to a predetermined pressure loss generated in said second minimum metering gap and a pressure loss generated in said first minimum metering gap.
- 6. An electromagnetic fuel injection valve according to claim 5, wherein each of said guide portions has a contact portion to be contacted with said cylindrical interior space of said valve body, and wherein said contact portion of said guide portion has a larger diameter thereof than said enlarged portion.
- 7. An electromagnetic fuel injection valve according to claim 5, wherein each of said guide portions has a plurality of contact portions which project radially outwardly and contact with said cylindrical interior space of said valve body, and flat portions provided between said contact portions of said guide portion, said flat portions defining fuel passage means between said cylindrical interior space of said valve body and said flat portions.
- 8. An electromagnetic fuel injection valve according to claim 5, wherein said valve body is provided at the other end portion thereof opposed to said end portion thereof with an opening through which said valve member is inserted and fuel is supplied.
- 9. An electromagnetic fuel injection valve for use in an internal combustion engine, said valve comprising:
- a valve body provided therein with a cylindrical interior space serving as a fuel passage and having a valve seat formed on an end portion thereof;
- a valve member incorporated within said valve body and having an end portion provided with a contact end portion to be contacted with said valve seat;
- actuator means for actuating said valve member between a closed position and an open position;
- a first shaft portion having a predetermined diameter, said first shaft portion being provided at a portion of said valve member on an upstream side of said end portion of said valve member;
- a first guide portion having a diameter larger than that of said first shaft portion, said first guide portion being provided at a portion of said valve member on an upstream side of said first shaft portion, and said first guide portion contacting with said cylindrical interior space of said valve body for guiding a movement of said valve member;
- a second shaft portion having a diameter smaller than that of said first guide portion, said second shaft portion being provided at a portion of said valve member on the upstream side of said first guide portion;
- a second guide portion having a diameter larger than that of said second shaft portion, said second guide portion being provided at a portion of said valve member upstream side of said second shaft portion, and said second guide portion contacting with said cylindrical interior space of said valve body for guiding a movement of said valve member;
- a third shaft portion having a diameter smaller than that of said second guide portion, said third shaft portion being provided at a portion of said valve member on an upstream side of said second guide portion; and
- metering means provided on said second shaft portion, said metering means having a diameter larger than that of a remaining part of said second shaft portion,
- wherein a minimum metering gap is formed between the end portion of said valve body and the end portion of said valve member, and a second minimum metering gap is formed between said metering means and said cylindrical interior space of said valve body when said valve member is in said open position, fuel thereby being injected from said fuel injection valve due to a predetermined pressure loss generated in said second minimum metering gap and a pressure loss generated in said minimum metering gap.
- 10. An electromagnetic fuel injection valve according to claim 9, wherein each of said guide portions has a contact portion to be contacted with said cylindrical interior space of said valve body, and wherein said contact portion of said guide portion has a larger diameter than said metering means.
- 11. An electromagnetic fuel injection valve according to claim 9, wherein each of said guide portions has a plurality of contact portions which project radially outwardly and are to be contacted with said cylindrical interior space of said valve body, and flat portions provided between said contact portions of said guide portion, said flat portions defining fuel passage means between said cylindrical interior space of said valve body and said flat portions.
- 12. An electromagnetic fuel injection valve according to claim 9, wherein said valve body is provided at the other end portion thereof opposed to said end portion thereof with an opening through which said valve member is inserted and fuel is supplied.
