Claims
- 1. An electromagnetic fuel injection valve comprising:
- a valve housing having a fuel passage therein along which a valve seat is formed;
- a fuel swirling element supported within said fuel passage of said valve housing upstream of said value seat and having swirl passages therein for imparting a swirling motion to fuel;
- a fuel injection port formed in said valve housing downstream of said valve seat;
- a ball valve movable toward and away from said valve seat in an axial direction of said valve housing for injecting the fuel, swirled by said fuel swirling element, from said fuel injection port; and
- means for setting the stroke amount of said ball valve so as to produce a constant static flow rate of the fuel.
- 2. An electromagnetic fuel injection valve comprising:
- a valve housing having a fuel passage therein along which a valve seat is formed;
- a fuel swirling element supported within said fuel passage upstream of said valve seat including a flange and having formed in said flange a plurality of cutaways, a cavity forming a fuel pool communicating with said cutaways and formed below said flange on a side surface of the fuel swirling element, and radial grooves communicating with said fuel pool and formed on the under surface of the fuel swirling element for imparting a swirling motion to the fuel supplied from said cutaways via said fuel pool;
- a fuel injection port provided downstream of the valve seat; and
- a ball valve movable toward and away from said valve seat for injecting the fuel having a swirling force given by said fuel swirling element from said fuel injection port; wherein
- an amount of the fuel to be injected is controlled by controlling an opening and closing time period of said ball valve.
- 3. An electromagnetic fuel injection valve comprising a fuel swirling element disposed upstream of a valve seat and having grooves for imparting a swirling motion to fuel; a fuel injection port formed downstream of said valve seat; and a valve for injecting the fuel, swirled by said fuel swirling element, from said fuel injection port; and in which an amount of fuel to be injected is controlled by controlling an opening and closing time period of the valve; wherein an area of an annular gap formed between the valve and the valve seat when the valve is lifted is smaller than a cross sectional area of the grooves of the fuel swirling element is larger than a cross sectional area of the fuel injection port.
- 4. An electromagnetic fuel injection valve comprising a fuel swirling element for imparting a swirling motion to fuel, a valve seat, a valve moveable with respect to said valve seat for controlling fuel flow, and means forming a fuel injection port downstream of said valve seat for injecting the fuel, wherein said valve, said valve seat, said fuel injection port and said swirling element are disposed so as to form a fuel flow path which has its narrowest point at said fuel injection port so that the static flow rate of the fuel flowing through said flow path is determined only by said fuel injection port.
- 5. An electromagnetic fuel injection valve comprising a valve seat, a valve moveable with respect to said value seat for controlling fuel flow, and means forming a fuel injection port downstream of said valve seat for injecting the fuel, wherein said valve, said valve seat, said fuel injection port and said swirling element are disposed so as to form a fuel flow path which has its narrowest point at said fuel injection port so that the static flow rate of the fuel flowing through said flow path is determined only by said fuel injection port.
- 6. An electromagnetic fuel injection valve comprising a valve seat; a valve moveable with respect to said valve seat for controlling fuel flow; means forming a fuel injection port downstream of said valve seat for injecting the fuel; said valve, said valve seat and said fuel injection port being disposed so as to form a fuel flow path; and fuel swirling means disposed along said flow path for imparting a swirling motion to the fuel; and wherein said fuel flow path has it narrowest point at said fuel injection port so that the static flow rate of the fuel flowing through said flow path is determined only by said fuel injection port.
- 7. An electromagnetic fuel injection valve according to claim 6, wherein said fuel swirling means included an element disposed upstream of said valve seat.
- 8. An electromagnetic fuel injection valve, comprising:
- a fuel swirling element disposed upstream of a valve seat for imparting a swirling motion to fuel;
- a fuel injection port formed downstream of said valve seat;
- a valve for injecting the fuel, swirled by said fuel swirling element, from said fuel injection port; and
- means for setting the stroke amount of said valve so as to produce a constant static flow rate of the fuel, and in which an amount of the fuel to be injected is controlled only by controlling an opening and closing time period of the valve.
- 9. An electromagnetic fuel injection valve comprising a valve seat; an elongated member having a valve at one end thereof; first and second support means for supporting said elongated member in the area of the respective ends thereof for axial movement so that said valve is moveable with respect to said valve seat for controlling fuel flow; means forming a fuel injection port downstream of said valve seat for injecting the fuel; said valve, said valve seat and said fuel injection port being disposed so as to form a fuel flow path; fuel swirling means disposed along said fuel flow path for imparting a swirling motion to the fuel; and a stopper disposed between said first and second support means in such a way as to limit the extent of axial movement of said elongated member to a value which will determine the stroke of said valve so as to produce a constant static flow rate of the fuel.
- 10. An electromagnetic fuel injection valve comprising a fuel swirling element disposed upstream of a valve seat for imparting a swirling motion to fuel, a fuel injection port formed downstream of said valve seat and a ball valve for injecting the fuel, swirled by said fuel swirling element, from said fuel injection port, and in which an amount of the fuel to be injected is controlled by controlling an opening and closing time period of the ball valve, said fuel swirling element including axial grooves into which the fuel is introduced from an axial direction of a valve body and radial grooves introducing the fuel from said axial grooves into a fuel swirling chamber at portions of the fuel swirling chamber eccentric from a center of the valve body.
