The present invention generally relates to bracelets which can be worn on parts of a user's body.
More particularly, it relates to electronic bracelets, in which an electronic device is provided on the bracelet and can include a display for displaying video images and an audio unit for producing audio messages. It is believed that the existing bracelets can be further improved.
Accordingly, it is an object of the present invention to provide an electronic bracelet, which is a further improvement of the existing bracelets.
In keeping with these objects and with others which will become apparent hereinafter, one feature of the present invention resides, briefly stated, in an electronic bracelet which has a bracelet body having an opening shaped to surround a body part, and a bracelet part with an electronic attachment which is connectable with the bracelet body so that when the bracelet part with the electronic device is attached to the bracelet body, the full bracelet is formed and can be worn by a user and the electronic device can be seen and operated by a user.
In accordance with a further feature of the present invention, the bracelet body has a local interruption and is expansible to increase the interruption and to allow passage of the body part through it and thereafter contractible to reduce the interruption, and the bracelet part with the electronic device has such a rigidity which is greater than the rigidity of the bracelet body, so that when the electronic attachment is attached to the bracelet body the latter can not expand, the interruption can not increase, and the bracelet can not be lost.
When the electronic bracelet is designed in accordance with the present invention, it eliminates the disadvantages of the previously known bracelets.
In accordance with a further feature of the present invention, the bracelet part with the electronic attachment while being more rigid than the bracelet body, is expansible and contractible so as to snap onto the bracelet body and to be thereby firmly retained on the bracelet body.
In accordance with a further feature of the present invention, the bracelet body has at least one depression, while the bracelet part with the electronic attachment has at least one projection which is snappable into the depression of the bracelet body when the bracelet part with the electronic attachment is pressed onto the bracelet body.
The novel features of the present invention are set forth in particular in the appended claims. The invention itself however both as to its construction and its manner of operation, will be best understood from the following description of the preferred embodiments, which is accompanied by the following drawings.
An electronic bracelet in accordance with the present invention has a bracelet body which is identified as a whole with reference numeral 1. The bracelet body has an inner opening 2 for a part of a user's body, on which the bracelet can be worn, for example a wrist of an arm, an ankle of a leg, a neck etc.
The bracelet body 1 is substantially curved, and is provided, in the shown herein example, with a groove 3 extending over at least a part of its circumference. At its one end, preferable at both ends, the groove 3 ends in a deeper depression 4. Finally, the bracelet body has an interruption 5 for passing a part of a user's body.
The electronic bracelet in accordance with the present invention further has a bracelet part which is identified as a whole with reference numeral 6. The bracelet part 6 has its own body 7 with an electronic device including an electronic display 8 mounted in its, control buttons 9, and an audio components 10.
The electronic display 8 of the electronic attachment 6 can display video images and the audio component 10 can produce audio messages. The electronic device can also have other components, which are disclosed for example in our patent application Ser. No. 12/655,418, as well as other components. The bracelet part 6 is curved and is provided at least on one end, preferably at both ends, with a projection 11, which for example can accommodate a battery.
In the inventive electronic bracelet the bracelet body 1 can be expansible and contractible. When a user expands the bracelet body 1, the interruption 5 increases and a corresponding part of a user's body, for example a wrist, can pass through it. Then the user releases the bracelet body 1 and it contracts so that the interruption 5 reduces. Since the rigidity of the bracelet body is relatively low, it can expand during use and the bracelet can slip from the user's body part which can unintentionally slightly expand thus increasing the interruption.
In accordance with the present invention the bracelet part 6 with the electronic device has a rigidity which is greater than the rigidity of the bracelet body 1.
When the bracelet body 1 of the electronic bracelet in accordance with the invention is placed of a user's body part and the bracelet part 6 i with the electronic device is attached to the bracelet body 1 by snapping (pressing) the body of the bracelet part 6 into the groove 3 and snapping (pressing) the projections 11 into the depressions 4 of the bracelet body 1, then due to the higher rigidity of the bracelet part 6 with the electronic device, the bracelet body 1 can not expand any longer and the interruption of the bracelet body 1 can not increase. The electronic bracelet can not be lost from a user's body part.
While the invention is described hereinabove, it is not limited to the details shown, since various modification and structural changes are possible without departing from the spirit of the present invention.
This patent application is a continuation-in-part of patent application Ser. No. 12/655,418 filed on Dec. 29, 2009 whose subject matter is incorporated here by reference. The above mentioned patent application Ser. No. 12/655,418 make therefore a basis for claim to priority of the current patent application under 35 USC 119 (a)-(d).
