The present invention relates to an electronic shelf label system, a product price management device, a portable terminal device, an electronic shelf label device, a product price management method, a product price update method, a product price management program, and a product price update program.
In a conventional electronic shelf label system, in a case of changing information displayed on an electronic shelf label, such as price information, the information displayed on the electronic shelf label is changed through a product price management server installed in a back office of a store, which is located away from shelving of a sales floor in the store where a shelf label that is to undergo the change is installed (for example, Patent Document 1).
However, in a case where display of the electronic shelf label is different from intended display and therefore the display content is changed, or in a case where the product displayed on the electronic shelf label is on a limited-time offer and therefore information displayed on the electronic shelf label, such as a price of the product, is changed, it is necessary to turn back from the sales floor to the back office of the store where the product price management server is installed and to use the product price management server for changing the information displayed on the electronic shelf label. This work forces store staff to go back and forth between the sales floor and the back office, resulting in higher workloads. Further, the display of the electronic shelf label is not changed unless the store staff member goes back and forth between the sales floor and the back office for displaying of the electronic shelf label, and hence customers may be charged at a price different from the display content before the display is changed, which possibly arouses customers' dissatisfaction.
The present invention has been made in order to solve the above-mentioned problems, and it is therefore an object thereof to provide an electronic shelf label system, a product price management device, a portable terminal device, an electronic shelf label device, a product price management method, a product price update method, a product price management program, and a product price update program, which are capable of changing display of an electronic shelf label in a place where the electronic shelf label is installed.
The present invention provides an electronic shelf label system including: an electronic shelf label device for displaying price information of a product; a portable terminal device for inputting the price information; and a product price management device for managing the price information, in which the product price management device includes: storage means for storing identification information of the electronic shelf label device and the price information in association with each other; first reception means for receiving the identification information and the price information from the portable terminal device; update means for updating, in the price information stored in the storage means, a piece of the price information associated with the same identification information as the identification information received by the first reception means, as the price information received by the first reception means; and first transmission means for transmitting the price information updated by the update means to the electronic shelf label device, in which the portable terminal device includes: reading means for reading the identification information from the electronic shelf label device; input means for inputting the price information; and second transmission means for transmitting the identification information and the price information to the product price management device, and in which the electronic shelf label device includes: second reception means for receiving the price information transmitted from the product price management device; and display means for displaying the price information received by the second reception means.
Further, the present invention provides an electronic shelf label system including: an electronic shelf label device for displaying price information of a product; a portable terminal device for inputting the price information; and a product price management device for managing the price information, in which the product price management device includes: storage means for storing identification information of the electronic shelf label device and the price information in association with each other; first reception means for receiving the identification information and the price information from the portable terminal device; and update means for updating, in the price information stored in the storage means, a piece of the price information associated with the same identification information as the identification information received by the first reception means, as the price information received by the first reception means, in which the portable terminal device includes: reading means for reading the identification information from the electronic shelf label device; input means for inputting the price information; first transmission means for transmitting the identification information and the price information to the product price management device; and second transmission means for transmitting the price information to the electronic shelf label device, and in which the electronic shelf label device includes: second reception means for receiving the price information transmitted from the portable terminal device; and display means for displaying the price information received by the second reception means.
Further, the present invention provides a product price management device including: storage means for storing price information of a product, which is displayed on an electronic shelf label device, and identification information of the electronic shelf label device in association with each other; reception means for receiving the identification information and the price information from a portable terminal device for inputting the price information; and update means for updating, in the price information stored in the storage means, a piece of the price information associated with the same identification information as the identification information received by the reception means, as the price information received by the reception means.
Further, the present invention provides the product price management device further including transmission means for transmitting the price information updated by the update means to the electronic shelf label device.
Further, the present invention provides a portable terminal device including: reading means for reading, from an electronic shelf label device for displaying price information of a product, identification information of the electronic shelf label device; input means for inputting the price information; and first transmission means for transmitting the identification information and the price information to a product price management device for managing the price information.
Further, the present invention provides the portable terminal device further including second transmission means for transmitting the price information input to the input means to the electronic shelf label device.
Further, the present invention provides an electronic shelf label device including: reception means for receiving price information of a product, which is transmitted from a portable terminal device for inputting the price information; and display means for displaying the price information received by the reception means.
Further, the present invention provides a product price management method for a product price management device for managing price information of a product, the product price management method including: a reception step of receiving identification information of an electronic shelf label device for displaying the price information of the product, and the price information from a portable terminal device for inputting the price information; and an update step of updating, in the price information stored in storage means for storing the identification information and the price information in association with each other, a piece of the price information associated with the same identification information as the identification information received in the reception step, as the price information received in the reception step.
Further, the present invention provides the product price management method further including a transmission step of transmitting the price information updated in the update step to the electronic shelf label device.
Further, the present invention provides a product price update method for a portable terminal device for inputting price information of a product, the product price update method including: a reading step of reading, from an electronic shelf label device for displaying the price information of the product, identification information of the electronic shelf label device; an input step of inputting the price information; and a first transmission step of transmitting the identification information and the price information to a product price management device for managing the price information.
Further, the present invention provides the product price update method further including a second transmission step of transmitting the price information input in the input step to the electronic shelf label device.
Further, the present invention provides a product price management program for causing a computer to function as: storage means for storing price information of a product, which is displayed on an electronic shelf label device, and identification information of the electronic shelf label device in association with each other; reception means for receiving the identification information and the price information from a portable terminal device for inputting the price information; and update means for updating, in the price information stored in the storage means, a piece of the price information associated with the same identification information as the identification information received by the reception means, as the price information received by the reception means.
Further, the present invention provides the product price management program further causing the computer to function as transmission means for transmitting the price information updated by the update means to the electronic shelf label device.
Further, the present invention provides a product price update program for causing a computer to function as: reading means for reading, from an electronic shelf label device for displaying price information of a product, identification information of the electronic shelf label device; input means for inputting the price information; and first transmission means for transmitting the identification information and the price information to a product price management device for managing the price information.
Further, the present invention provides the product price update program further causing the computer to function as second transmission means for transmitting the price information input to the input means to the electronic shelf label device.
According to the present invention, the display of the electronic shelf label can be changed in the place where the electronic shelf label is installed.

When the handy terminal 105 is authorized to make the change, the control unit 203 of the communication controller 102 updates the price indicated by the product master data stored in the storage unit 204 as the price indicated by the price information contained in the change request transmitted from the handy terminal 105. At the same time, in order to change the contents of the product master data stored in the storage unit of the server 101 as well in a similar manner, the control unit 203 of the communication controller 102 transmits a change request containing the changed price information and the shelf label ID to the server 101 (Step S803). Subsequently, the control unit 203 of the communication controller 102 transmits a change-enabled message to the control unit 603 of the handy terminal 105 (Step S804), and the processing ends. Next, description is given of processing of the shelf label 104. The reception unit 502 of the shelf label 104 receives the changed price information from the communication unit B 606 of the handy terminal 105. The control unit 504 of the shelf label 104 changes the price information displayed on the display unit 503, based on the changed price information received by the reception unit 502.
Through the above-mentioned procedure, the display of the electronic shelf label can be changed in the place where the electronic shelf label is installed. Further, the store staff member can flexibly change the display price of the electronic shelf label device. Still further, the store staff member can change the display of the electronic shelf label without going back and forth between a sales floor and a back office, resulting in reduction in loads on the store staff. Still further, because the display of the electronic shelf label can be changed flexibly, customers do not become confused about the display information.

At the same time, in order to update the contents of the product master data stored in the storage unit of the server 101 as well in a similar manner, the control unit 203 of the communication controller 102 transmits a change request containing the marked-down price information and the shelf label ID to the server 101 (Step S1204). Subsequently, the control unit 203 of the communication controller 102 transmits a change-enabled message and the marked-down price information to the control unit 603 of the handy terminal 105 (Step S1205), and the processing ends. When it is determined in Step S1202 that the handy terminal 105 is not authorized to make the change, the control unit 203 of the communication controller 102 transmits a change-disabled message to the control unit 603 of the handy terminal 105 (Step S1206), and the processing ends.
Next, description is given of processing of the shelf label 104. The reception unit 502 of the shelf label 104 receives the marked-down price information from the communication unit B 606 of the handy terminal 105. The control unit 504 of the shelf label 104 changes the display content of the display unit 503, based on the marked-down price information received by the reception unit 502.
Note that, in this embodiment, the display content of the shelf label 104 is changed through the handy terminal 105, but the display content of the shelf label 104 may be changed through the communication controller 102. Specifically, instead of transmitting the change-enabled message for the display content from the communication controller 102 to the handy terminal 105 in Step S804, the communication controller 102 may transmit the changed price information to the shelf label 104. Then, the reception unit 502 of the shelf label 104 may receive the price information transmitted from the communication unit 207 of the communication controller 102, and based on the price information, the control unit 504 may change the price information displayed on the display unit 503.
Through the above-mentioned procedure, the automatic calculation for marked-down price can be executed, and thus the display of the electronic shelf label can be changed.
Hereinabove, the procedure of changing the display content of the shelf label 104 by using the handy terminal 105 has been described as an example. Further, after the display content of the shelf label 104 is changed in Step S706 or after the input of the change information is received in Step S702, information on the change of the price information (information containing the price information, the ID for identification or the product ID, and the terminal identification number of the handy terminal 105) may be transmitted from the handy terminal 105 to a POS cash register (not shown) for checkout, which is installed in the store or the like, to thereby cause the POS cash register to change the price information of the product that is stored in the POS cash register itself for the checkout processing. Further, along with the change, the POS cash register may be caused to request the change of the product master data of the server 101.
In general, there are many cases where the POS system (system constituted by the server 101 and the POS cash register) is already installed in a store. In a case where an electronic shelf label system including the communication controller 102, the relay station, the shelf label 104, the handy terminal 105, the display 106, and the like is installed in addition to the existing server 101, there is technical difficulty in many aspects about connection between the server 101 and the communication controller 102, and linkage of applications, data, and the like. Therefore, there are many cases where a POS system connectable to the electronic shelf label system is newly installed for installation of the electronic shelf label system. However, such a measure is highly costly, and therefore the POS system and the electronic shelf label system are installed independently of each other in a store in some cases.
According to the present invention, the information on the change of the price information is transmitted from the handy terminal 105 to the POS cash register, and hence the POS cash register can be caused to change the price information stored in the POS cash register, even if the POS system and the electronic shelf label system are installed independently of each other. Further, the information on the change of the price information can be transmitted and reflected through the POS cash register to the server 101.
Note that, in the case where the printing unit 610 is mounted on the handy terminal 105, the information on the change of the price information may be printed (printed as character information or printed in the form of a code such as a barcode or a QR code) in addition to the discount information and the like, and the POS cash register may be caused to read the printed information on the change of the price information. Then, based on the information on the change of the price information, the POS cash register may be caused to change the price information stored for the checkout processing. Further, the POS cash register may be caused to request the change of the product master data of the server 101.
In this manner, when a customer brings a product with a discount sticker to the POS cash register and checkout processing for the product is conducted at the POS cash register, information on the change of the price information of the product can be reflected to the POS cash register and the server 101.
Hereinabove, the embodiment of the present invention has been described in detail with reference to the drawings, but the specific configuration, program, and system are not limited to this embodiment, and the present invention also encompasses design that does not depart from the gist of the present invention.
