Claims
- 1. A method for the electrophoresis of a nucleic acid sample located in an electrophoresis matrix comprising subjecting the nucleic acid sample to a ZIVE electrical field comprising a forward time tF, a forward velocity VF, a forward electrical field EF, a reverse time tR, a reverse velocity VR, and a reverse electrical field ER, wherein (a)tF*VF=tR* VR, and (b) the reverse electrical field ER is less than the forward electrical field EF.
- 2. The method of claim 1 wherein the ratio EF/ER ranges from 2 to 3.
- 3. The method of claim 2 wherein EF/ER is 2.4.
