Claims
- 1. An element for electrophoresis comprising the following three-layer structure laminated in the order:
- (I) a support layer;
- (II) an adhesive layer comprising a polymer having at least one repeating unit selected from the group consisting of:
- (1) a repeating unit having the formula (1): ##STR17## in which R.sup.11 is the hydrogen atom or an alkyl group containing 1-6 carbon atoms; Q.sup.1 is --COO--, --CON(R.sup.11)--, or an arylene group containing 6-10 carbon atoms; L.sup.1 is a divalent group containing at least one linkage selected from the group consisting of --COO-- and --CON(R.sup.11)-- and containing 3-15 carbon atoms, or a divalent group containing at least one linkage selected from the group consisting of --O--, --N(R.sup.11)--, --CO--, --SO--, --SO.sub.2 --, --SO.sub.3 --, --SO.sub.2 N(R.sup.11)--, --N(R.sup.11)CON(R.sup.11)-- and --N(R.sup.11)COO--, and containing 1-12 carbon atoms, in which R.sup.11 has the same meaning as defined above; R.sup.12 is --CH.dbd.CH.sub.2 or --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 X.sup.1, in which X.sup.1 is a substituent replaceable with a nucleophilic group or releasable in the form of HX.sup.1 by a base; A.sup.1 is a divalent group derived from an ethylenic unsaturated monomer copolymerizable with monomers forming other unit portions; and x.sup.1, y.sup.1 and z.sup.1 all representing molar percents range from 0 to 99, from 1 to 99, and from 1 to 99, respectively;
- (2) a repeating unit having the formula (2): ##STR18## in which R.sup.21 is the hydrogen atom or an alkyl group containing 1-6 carbon atoms; R.sup.22 is --CH.dbd.CH.sub.2 or --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 X.sup.2, in which X.sup.2 is a substituent replaceable with a nucleophilic group or releasable in the form of HX.sup.2 by a base; L.sup.2 is a divalent group selected from the group consisting of an alkylene group containing 1-6 carbon atoms, an arylene group containing 6-12 carbon atoms, --COZ.sup.2 --, and --COZ.sup.2 R.sup.23 --, in which R.sup.23 is an alkylene group containing 1-6 carbon atoms, or an arylene group containing 6-12 carbon atoms, and Z.sup.2 is the oxygen atom or NH; A.sup.2 is a divalent group derived from an ethylenic unsaturated monomer copolymerizable with monomers forming other unit portions; and x.sup.2, y.sup.2 and z.sup.2 all representing molar percents range from 0 to 99, from 1 to 99, and from 1 to 99, respectively; and
- (3) a repeating unit having the formula (3): ##STR19## in which R.sup.31 is the hydrogen atom or an alkyl group containing 1-6 carbon atoms; L.sup.3 is a divalent linkage group containing 1-20 carbon atoms; X.sup.3 is an active ester; A.sup.3 is a divalent group derived from an ethylenic unsaturated monomer copolymerizable with monomers forming other unit portions; and x.sup.3, y.sup.3 and z.sup.3 all representing molar percents range from 0 to 99, from 1 to 99, and from 1 to 99, respectively; and m is 0 or 1; and
- (III) a medium layer for electrophoresis comprising an aqueous polyacrylamide gel formed by crosslinking polymerization of an acrylamide compound, a crosslinking agent in the presence of water and a water-soluble polymer and agarose.
- 2. The element for electrophoresis as claimed in claim 1 in which said water-soluble polymer is present in an amount of 2 to 100 wt. % based on the amount of polyacrylamide solid and said agarose is present in the aqueous polyacrylamide gel in the amount of 0.2 to 2 wt./v %.
- 3. The element for electrophoresis as claimed in claim 1 or 2, in which said medium layer for electrophoresis further contains an anitonic surfactant.
- 4. The element for electrophoresis as claimed in claim 3, in which said anionic surfactant is an alkylsulfate.
- 5. The element for electrophoresis as claimed in claim 3, in which said alkylsulfate is sodium dodecylsulfate.
- 6. The element for electrophoresis as claimed in claim 1 or 2, in which said support layer is made of a plastic material sheet.
- 7. The element for electrophoresis as claimed in claim 6, in which the plastic material sheet is a polyethylene terephthalate sheet.
- 8. The element for electrophoresis as claimed in claim 1, in which the adhesive layer consists essentially of a polymer having the formula (1).
