Claims
- 1. An expression cassette comprising a plant promoter sequence operably linked to a DNA subsequence of at least 20 base pairs derived from a DNA sequence encoding tomato a endo-1,4-.beta.-glucanase, the DNA subsequence being linked to the promoter sequence in the opposite orientation for expression.
- 2. An expression cassette as in claim 1 wherein the promoter is inducible.
- 3. An expression cassette as in claim 1 wherein the promoter is derived from a tomato E8 gene.
- 4. An expression cassette as in claim 1 wherein the promoter is constitutive.
- 5. An expression cassette as in claim 1 wherein the promoter is derived from cauliflower mosaic virus.
- 6. An expression cassette as in claim 1 wherein the DNA sequence encoding tomato endo-1,4-.beta.-glucanase is SEQ. ID. No. 1.
- 7. An expression cassette as in claim 1 wherein the DNA sequence encoding tomato endo-1,4-.beta.-glucanase comprises SEQ. ID. No. 3.
