Claims
- 1. An endoscopic instrument for releasably engaging a device, the endoscopic instrument comprising:
an elongate member comprising a proximal portion and a distal portion for extending distally of an endoscope, the distal portion of the elongate member having a first profile; an radially expanding member configured to expand at least a portion of the distal portion of the instrument in a radial direction to create a second profile larger than the first profile.
- 2. The endoscopic instrument of claim 1 further comprising a wire member;
wherein the elongate member comprises a lumen from a proximal portion of the instrument to the distal portion of the instrument configured to receive the wire member, wherein the distal portion comprises a side opening in communication with the lumen, and wherein the opening is configured to permit a portion of the wire member to extend from the lumen through the opening to create the second larger profile to engage a connector of a device.
- 3. The endoscopic instrument of claim 1 further comprising a balloon coupled to the distal portion of the elongate member,
wherein the elongate member comprises a lumen in fluid communication with the balloon to provide an inflation medium to the balloon, and wherein the balloon is configured to radially expand upon introduction of an inflation medium into the balloon to create a second, larger profile to engage a connector of a device.
