Claims
- 1. An apparatus adapted to detect radiant heat energy incident on a surface comprising:
a body portion; and at least two temperature sensing means wherein an unmasked temperature sensing means is located on a first side of said body portion and a masked sensing means is located on the opposite side of said body portion.
- 2. An apparatus adapted to detect radiant heat energy incident on a surface as claimed in claim 1 adapted such that in use said opposite side facing towards said surface and said masked sensing means juxtaposed in contact with said surface thereby being masked from any radiant heat energy otherwise incident on said surface by said body portion.
- 3. An apparatus adapted to detect radiant heat energy incident on a surface as claimed in claims 1 or 2 adapted such that in use said first side facing away from said surface and said unmasked temperature sensing means juxtaposed directly in the path of said radiant energy otherwise incident on said surface.
- 4. An apparatus adapted to detect radiant heat energy incident on a surface as claimed in any one of claims 1 to 3 wherein said sensing means comprise electronic thermistor devices.
- 5. An apparatus adapted to detect radiant heat energy incident on a surface as claimed in any one of claims 1 to 4 wherein said body portion is constructed of a thermally insulating material.
- 6. An apparatus adapted to detect radiant heat energy incident on a surface as claimed in claim 5 wherein said body portion is injection moulded from a plastics composition.
- 7. An apparatus adapted to detect radiant heat energy incident on a surface as claimed in any one of claims 1 to 6 further comprising insulation deposed between said masked sensing means and fund unmasked sending means.
- 8. An apparatus adapted to detect radiant heat energy incident on a surface as claimed in claim 7 wherein said insulation means comprising a reflective metal sheet adapted to in use prevent radiation from above infringing on said masked sensing means.
- 9. An apparatus adapted to detect radiant heat energy incident on a surface as claimed in claim 8 wherein said insulation further comprising on air gap between said sheet and said masked sensing means.
