Claims
- 1. A reusable envelope comprising:
an enclosure having an interior with an access; and an first address region on the enclosure comprising a first panel overlying a second panel, wherein the first panel includes a removable region and at least a portion of the second panel is exposed when the first panel is removed.
- 2. The envelope of claim 1, further comprising a second address region on the enclosure comprising a first panel overlying a second panel, wherein the first panel includes a removable region and at least a portion of the second panel is exposed when the first panel is removed.
- 3. The envelope of claim 1, further comprising a postage region on the enclosure comprising a first panel overlying a second panel, wherein the first panel includes a removable region and at least a portion of the second panel is exposed when the first panel is removed.
- 4. The envelope of claim 1, wherein at least a portion of the second panel is transparent.
- 5. The envelope of claim 1, wherein at least a portion of the second panel comprises a pocket.
- 6. The envelope of claim 1, further comprising a closure to help seal the access to the interior of the enclosure.
- 7. The envelope of claim 6, wherein the closure is reusable.
- 8. The envelope of claim 6, wherein the closure comprises a first portion for securing the closure a first time and one or more additional portions for securing the closure one or more additional times.
- 9. The envelope of claim 8, wherein the first portion of the closure is separable from the second portion of the closure by a line of weakness.
- 10. The envelope of claim 9, wherein the second portion of the closure includes one or more access regions for separating the first portion from the second portion along the line of weakness.
- 11. A method for reusing an envelope, the method comprising the steps of:
providing a label device comprising a removable panel wherein removal of the removable panel exposes an underlying surface; and marketing a kit comprising the label device and comprising information indicative of using the label device to make an envelope reusable.
- 12. A kit to make an envelope reusable, the kit comprising:
a reusable address label attachable to an envelope panel; at least one closure element positionable to help seal an access to the envelope; and a postage label attachable to an envelope panel.
- 13. The kit of claim 12, wherein the reusable label comprises a removable panel wherein removal of the removable panel exposes an underlying surface.
- 14. The kit of claim 13, wherein the underlying surface includes a printed address.
- 15. The kit of claim 12, further including a second reusable address label attachable to an envelope panel.
- 16. The kit of claim 15, wherein the second reusable label comprises a removable panel wherein removal of the removable panel exposes an underlying surface.
- 17. The kit of claim 16, wherein the underlying surface of the second reusable label includes a printed address.
- 18. The kit of claim 15, wherein the first reusable label, the second reusable label, the closure element, and the postage label are attached to each other by one or more lines of weakness.
- 19. A method of reusing an envelope, the method comprising the steps of:
providing an envelope having a face panel, wherein an address label panel is attached to the face panel, the address label panel comprising a removable information-bearing panel; removing the information-bearing panel to expose an underlying surface; causing information to be provided on the underlying surface; and mailing the envelope.
- 20. The method of claim 19, wherein the causing information to be provided step includes causing address information to be provided on the underlying surface.
- 21. The method of claim 20, wherein the causing information to be provided step includes causing postage information to be provided on the underlying surface.
- 22. A reusable envelope having an accessible interior, the reusable envelope comprising:
a first panel for forming a front face of an envelope, the first panel having a first portion thereof for displaying a first address, the first portion being at least partially removable from the first panel thereby defining a first open region in the first panel; a second panel positioned with respect to the first panel such that at least a portion of the second panel at least partially covers the first open region in the first panel when the first portion is at least partially removed; and a closure for at least partially sealing the access to the interior.
- 23. The envelope of claim 22, further comprising a second portion for displaying a second address the second portion being at least partially removable from the first panel thereby defining a second open region in the first panel.
- 24. The envelope of claim 22, further comprising a third portion for displaying a postage mark the third portion being at least partially removable from the first panel thereby defining a third open region in the first panel.
- 25. The envelope of claim 22, wherein the closure is reusable.
- 26. The envelope of claim 22, wherein the closure comprises a first portion for securing the closure a first time and one or more additional portions for securing the closure one or more additional times.
- 27. The envelope of claim 26, wherein the first portion of the closure is separable from the second portion of the closure by a line of weakness.
- 28. The envelope of claim 27, wherein the second portion of the closure includes one or more access regions for separating the first portion from the second portion along the line of weakness.
- 29. A label capable of being attached to an envelope for making the envelope reusable, the label comprising:
a first panel having a front face and a rear face, the front face having a first portion thereof for displaying a mark, the first portion being separable from the first panel thereby defining a first open region in the first panel; and an adhesive for attaching the label to an envelope formed on at least a portion of the rear face of the label.
- 30. A kit for converting an envelope to a multi-use envelope, the kit comprising:
a first label formed from a first panel having a front face and a rear face, the front face having a removable portion thereof capable of displaying a destination address, the removable portion being capable of being at least partially separated from the first panel thereby defining an open region in the first panel, the rear face having an adhesive for attaching the first label to an envelope formed on at least a portion of the rear face of the first label; a second label formed from a second panel having a front face and a rear face, the front face having a removable portion thereof capable of displaying a return address, the removable portion being capable of being at least partially separated from the second panel thereby defining an open region in the second panel, the rear face having an adhesive for attaching the second label to an envelope formed on at least a portion of the rear face of the second label; a third label formed from a third panel having a front face and a rear face, the front face having a portion thereof for displaying a postage mark, the rear face having an adhesive for attaching the third label to an envelope formed on at least a portion of the rear face of the third label, the third label being capable of sufficiently covering a cancelled postage mark; and a closure label for at least partially sealing at least a portion of an opened envelope.
- 31. A method for delivering personalized correspondence from a sender to a recipient such that the correspondence can be delivered back to the sender by using the same envelope for both trips, the method comprising the steps of:
providing an envelope having a front face and having a region capable of displaying at least the sender's address and a postage mark thereon; providing an attachable panel comprising personalized correspondence separable from the attachable panel, the attachable panel being capable of being attached to at least a portion of the front face of the envelope at an attachment region thereof thereby sufficiently covering the sender's address, the attachable panel including a region thereof capable of displaying at least the recipient's address and a postage mark thereon; attaching the attachable panel to the front face of the envelope; and delivering the envelope with the attachable panel attached thereto to the recipient.
- 32. A reusable envelope, the envelope comprising:
an envelope body; and a reusable sealing flap, the sealing flap comprising at least:
a first portion proximal to the envelope body and extending along the envelope body for a length; a first adhesive region formed on the first portion of the sealing flap; a second portion extending from the first portion and distal from the envelope body and extending along a length of the first portion that is less than the length of the first portion and that is separable from the first portion; and a second adhesive region formed on the second portion of the sealing flap; wherein the adhesive region of the second portion of the sealing flap can be used to seal the envelope a first time such that the second portion of the sealing flap can be separated from the first portion of the sealing flap to open the envelope and the adhesive region on the first portion of the envelope can be used to seal the envelope a second time.
- 33. The envelope of claim 32, wherein the first adhesive region is spaced apart from the envelope body.
- 34. The envelope of claim 32, wherein the second adhesive region is spaced apart from the first adhesive region.
- 35. The envelope of claim 32, wherein the first portion of the sealing flap is separable from the second portion of the sealing flap by a perforation.
- 36. The envelope of claim 35, wherein the at least one of the first and second adhesive regions is spaced apart from the perforation.
- 37. The envelope of claim 32, wherein the first portion of the sealing flap comprises a liftable portion that can be used to facilitate the separation of the first portion of the sealing flap from the second portion of the sealing flap to open the envelope when the second portion of the sealing flap is sealed to the body of the envelope.
- 38. The envelope of claim 32, further comprising instructions for reusing the envelope printed on one or both of the envelope body and sealing flap.
- 39. A reusable envelope, the envelope comprising:
an envelope body; and a reusable sealing flap, the sealing flap comprising at least:
a first portion proximal to the envelope body and extending along the envelope body for a length; a second portion extending from the first portion and distal from the envelope body and extending along a length of the first portion that is less than the length of the first portion; and at least one adhesive region formed on the sealing flap and spaced apart from a boundary along which the first portion can be separated from the second portion of the sealing flap; wherein the at least one adhesive region of the sealing flap can be used to seal the envelope a first time such that the second portion of the sealing flap can be separated from the first portion of the sealing flap to open the envelope and the first portion of the envelope can be used to close the envelope a second time.
- 40. A method for reusing an envelope, the method comprising:
providing an envelope comprising an envelope body and a reusable sealing flap, the sealing flap comprising at least a first portion proximal to the envelope body and extending along the envelope body for a length, a second portion extending from the first portion and distal from the envelope body, and at least one adhesive region formed on the sealing flap and spaced apart from a boundary along which the first portion can be separated from the second portion of the sealing flap; attaching the second portion of the sealing flap to the envelope body to close the envelope a first time; opening the envelope by separating the first portion of the sealing flap from the second portion of the sealing flap along the boundary while the second portion of the sealing flap is attached to the envelope body; and attaching the first portion of the sealing flap to the envelope body to close the envelope a second time.
- 41. The method of claim 40, wherein the step of providing an envelope comprises providing an envelope wherein the second portion of the sealing flap extends along a length of the first portion that is less than the length of the first portion.
- 42. The method of claim 40, wherein the step of opening the envelope comprises lifting a liftable portion of the sealing flap to facilitate the separation of the first portion of the sealing flap from the second portion of the sealing flap to open the envelope.
