Claims
- 1. An epoxy resin composition comprising:an epoxidized block copolymer (E) obtained by epoxidizing a block copolymer (C) comprising a polymer block (A) composed mainly of a vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon compound and a polymer block (B) composed mainly of a conjugated diene compound or a hydrogenation product (D) thereof with a peracid, (E) having a molar ratio (R) of hydroxyl to epoxy groups ranging from 0.001 to 0.1, said molar ratio (R) being represented by the formula: R=[hydroxyl]/[epoxy]wherein [hydroxyl] represents the amount, in terms of the number of moles, of hydroxyl moieties per unit weight of the epoxidized block copolymer and [epoxy] represents the amount, in terms of the number of moles, of epoxy moieties per unit weight of the epoxidized block copolymer, and an epoxy compound, wherein the epoxidized block copolymer (E) is distinct in structure from the epoxy compound, and wherein the epoxy compound is at least one bisphenol A epoxy compound.
- 2. The composition as claimed in claim 1, further comprising a curing agent.

- 4. The composition as claimed in claim 1, in which the epoxidized block copolymer (E) has an acid value of 10 mgKOH/g or less.
- 5. The composition as claimed in claim 1, in which the epoxidized block copolymer (E) has at gel content of not more than 5% by weight.
- 6. The composition as claimed in claim 1, which comprises 100 parts by weight of the epoxidized block copolymer (E) and 0.005 to 10 parts by weight of a phosphorus or phenol stabilizer.
- 7. The composition as claimed in claim 1, which comprises 100 parts by weight of the epoxidized block copolyner (E) and 0.001 to 5 parts by weight of an anti-blocking agent.
- 8. The composition as claimed in claim 7, wherein the anti-blocking agent is at least one selected from the group consisting of silicon compounds, fatty acid salts, fatty acid esters, fatty acid amides and nonionic surfactants.
- 9. The composition as claimed in claim 6, wherein the phenolic stabilizer is at least one selected from the group consisting of tetrakis (methylene-3-(3′,5′-di-tert-butyl-4′-hydroxyphenyl)propionate)methane, 1,3,5-trimethyl-2,4,6-tris(3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxybenzyl)benzene and 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4methylphenol and the phosphorous stabilizer is at least one selected from the group consisting of trisnonylphenyl phosphite and tris(2,5-di-tert-butylphenyl)phosphite.
- 10. The composition as claimed in claim 1, further comprising at least one member selected from the group consisting of an age resister, a crosslinking agent, an ultraviolet absorber, an inorganic filler, an organic filler, a plasticizer and a softening agent.
- 11. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the epoxidized block copolymer (E) has a chloride ion content of riot greater than 7 ppm.
