Claims
- 1. A cycloolefin random copolymer composition containing at least two cycloolefin random copolymers obtained by copolymerization of ethylene and at least one cycloolefin represented by the following formula [I] or [II], said copolymers having
- a softening temperature (TMA) of at least 70.degree. C.,
- an intrinsic viscosity [.eta.], as measured in decalin at 135.degree. C., of at least 0.01 dl/g, and
- the Mw/Mn ratio of a weight average molecular weight (Mw) to a number average molecular weight (Mn), both measured by GPC, of not more than 4, and
- said composition having
- an intrinsic viscosity [.eta.], as measured in decalin at 135.degree. C., of 0.2 to 0.7 dl/g, and
- the Mw/Mn ratio of a weight average molecular weight (Mw) to a number average molecular weight (Mn), both measured by GPC, of at least 3; ##STR41## wherein n is 0 or 1, m is 0 or an integer of a positive number, q is 0 or 1, R.sup.1 -R.sup.18 and R.sup.a and R.sup.b are each an atom or a group selected from the group consisting of hydrogen atom, halogen atom and hydrocarbon groups, R.sup.15 -R.sup.18, linked with one another, may form a monocyclic ring or polycyclic ring which may have a double bond, R.sup.15 and R.sup.16, or R.sup.17 and R.sup.18 may together form an alkylidene group; ##STR42## wherein r is 0 or an integer of more than 1, s and t are each 0, 1 or 2, R.sup.1 -R.sup.15 are each an atom or a group selected from the group consisting of hydrogen atom, halogen atom, aliphatic hydrocarbon groups, aromatic hydrocarbon groups and alkoxy groups, and the carbon atom having R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 may be bonded to the carbon atom having R.sup.7 or R.sup.9 directly or through an alkylene group of 1-3 carbon atoms.
- 2. The cycloolefin random copolymer composition as claimed in claim 1 wherein one of the two or more cycloolefin random copolymers constituting the cycloolefin random copolymer composition, at least one cycloolefin random copolymer has an intrinsic viscosity [.eta.] of at least 0.45 dl/g, and at least one cycloolefin random copolymer has an intrinsic viscosity [.eta.] of less than 0.45 dl/g.
- 3. A cycloolefin random copolymer composition containing at least two cycloolefin random copolymers obtained by copolymerization of ethylene and at least one cycloolefin represented by the following formula [I] or [II], said copolymers having a softening temperature (TMA) of at least 70.degree. C., and said composition having the Cw/Cn ratio of a weight average cycloolefin content (Cw) to a number average cycloolefin content (Cn), as defined respectively by the following formulas (1) and (2), of at least 1.04; ##EQU7## wherein m is an integer of at least 2, Ci and W.sub.i each represent the cycloolefin content (mol %) in a cycloolefin random copolymer component (i component) and a weight percentage of the i component present in the composition; ##STR43## wherein n is 0 or 1, m is 0 or an integer of a positive number, q is 0 or 1, R.sup.1 -R.sup.18 and R.sup.a and R.sup.b are each an atom or a group selected from the group consisting of hydrogen atom, halogen atom and hydrocarbon groups, R.sup.15 -R.sup.18, linked with one another, may form a monocyclic ring or polycyclic ring which may have a double bond, R.sup.15 and R.sup.16, or R.sup.17 and R.sup.18 may together form an alkylidene group; ##STR44## wherein r is 0 or an integer of more than 1, s and t are each 0, 1 or 2, R.sup.1 -R.sup.15 are each an atom or a group selected from the group consisting of hydrogen atom, halogen atom, aliphatic hydrocarbon groups, aromatic hydrocarbon groups and alkoxy groups, and the carbon atom having R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 may be bonded to the carbon atom having R.sup.7 or R.sup.9 directly or through an alkylene group of 1-3 carbon atoms.
