DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The specific details of the single embodiment or variety of embodiments described herein are to the described system and methods of use. Any specific details of the embodiments are used for demonstration purposes only, and no unnecessary limitations or inferences are to be understood thereon.

Before describing in detail exemplary embodiments, it is noted that the embodiments reside primarily in combinations of components and procedures related to the system. Accordingly, the system components have been represented, where appropriate, by conventional symbols in the drawings, showing only those specific details that are pertinent to understanding the embodiments of the present disclosure so as not to obscure the disclosure with details that will be readily apparent to those of ordinary skill in the art having the benefit of the description herein.

The embodiments generally relate to an expandable bag including expandable storage and straps to convert the bag from a small bag with a single strap, such as a fanny pack or purse, into a larger bag with multiple straps, such as a back pack. A second bag may be folded onto itself, which provides the expandable storage, and which may be connected to and may be stored within a first bag. A first bag has a zipper along the bottom that, when unzipped, the user can pull the second bag down to expand the storage of the combined first and second bags. The first bag may have a first set of straps that allows a user to wear the bag as a fanny pack or similar bag. The second bag may have a second set of straps attached to it that allows the user to wear the bag as a back pack. When the expandable storage is not needed, the user can reverse the process to go back to a smaller bag.

The first bag may include primarily fabric or cloth construction and may include at least one zipper constructed and arranged to open a first cavity within the first bag. The first bag may include at least one zipper constructed and arranged to open a third cavity within the first bag into which the second bag may be stored. According to some embodiments, the first bag may include a pocket attached thereto and which may define a pocket cavity. The pocket may include a pocket zipper constructed and arranged to close the pocket or open the pocket.

The first set of straps may be constructed and arranged to facilitate carrying or wearing of the first bag, such as, by nonlimiting example, a belt and buckle configuration or strap and buckle clip configuration.

The second bag may include primarily fabric or cloth construction and may be at least partially attached to a portion of the first cavity such that the second bag may be expanded out from the first cavity and may include a second cavity constructed and arranged to expand the first cavity. That is, in use, expanding the second bag from the first bag may define a combined cavity made-up of the first cavity and the second cavity.

The second set of straps may be constructed and arranged to facilitate carrying or wearing of the first bag and second bag, such as, by nonlimiting example, a belt and buckle configuration or strap and buckle clip configuration. According to some embodiments, the first set of straps and the second set of straps may be constructed and arranged to connect to one another such that the combined first bag and second bag are approximately similar to a shoulder worn backpack.

FIG. 1 illustrates an expandable bag 100 including a first bag 102 and a second bag 104. The second bag 104 may be stored within the first bag 102 by passing the second bag 104 into the third cavity 106 defined by the first bag 102. A first zipper 116 may close the third cavity 106. A first set of straps 110 may be attached to the first bag 102 and may be constructed and arranged four carrying the first bag or securing the first bag around a user's waist, shoulder, or the like. A second zipper 114 may be constructed and arranged to open or close a first pocket 108 defined by the first bag 102. A second set of straps 118 may be attached to the second bag 104 and may be stored within the first bag 102.

FIG. 2 illustrates a front view of an expandable bag including a first bag 102 made of a first material 132 and a second bag 104 made of a second material 134. According to some embodiments, the first material 132 and the second material 134 may be the same or similar materials. The second bag 104 may be stored within the first bag 102 by passing the second bag 104 into the third cavity 106 defined by the first bag 102. A first zipper 116 may close the third cavity 106. A first set of straps 110, 112 may be attached to the first bag 102 and may be constructed and arranged four carrying the first bag or securing the first bag around a user's waist, shoulder, or the like. The first set of straps 110, 112 may include a clip 124 and buckle 126. A second zipper 114 may be constructed and arranged to open or close a first pocket 108 defined by the first bag 102. A second set of straps may include a clip 118A and buckle 118B may be attached to the second bag 104 and may be stored within the first bag 102. A flap 120 and third zipper 130 may be constructed and arranged to allow access or closing of the first cavity 105. A second pocket 122 may be disposed on the first bag 102.

The first bag 102 and second bag 104 may define a combined cavity 152 made-up of the first cavity 105 and the second cavity 150.

FIG. 3 illustrates a rear view of an expandable bag 100 including a first bag 102 and a second bag 104 wherein the first set of straps 110, 112 are connected via the clip 124 and buckle 126.

FIG. 4 illustrates an expandable bag including a first material 132 wherein the second bag (not shown) has been stowed within the third cavity 106 of the first bag 102. A first set of straps 110, 112 may be attached to the first bag 102 and may be constructed and arranged four carrying the first bag or securing the first bag around a user's waist, shoulder, or the like. A second pocket 122 may be disposed on the first bag 102. A flap 120 and third zipper 130 may be constructed and arranged to allow access or closing of the first cavity 105 and access to the second bag (not shown) stowed within the third cavity 106 of the first bag 102.
