Expandable mug organizer

Abstract

The Expandable Mug Organizer is a two-tier deck for resting drinking mugs inside a kitchen cabinet. It consists of an upper and lower deck supported by a post at each corner. It is expandable in that a similar two-tier deck slides out from within the main structure such that it extends to whatever distance is required for the complete structure to fit neatly within the kitchen cabinet. There is a means of fastening the feet of the posts to the kitchen cabinet floor such as screw holes or glue pads.

Description

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The Expandable Mug Organizer is a two-tier deck for resting drinking mugs inside a kitchen cabinet. It consists of an upper and lower deck supported by a post at each corner. It is expandable in that a similar two-tier deck slides out from within the main structure such that it extends to whatever distance is required for the complete structure to fit neatly within the kitchen cabinet. There is a means of fastening the feet of the posts to the kitchen cabinet floor such as screw holes or glue pads. The resting mugs are ventilated top and bottom by resting on a floor of spaced separated planks enough to support the mugs yet aerate them. The bottom floors of both structures are spaced above the floor of the kitchen cabinet.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] This invention relates to making a kitchen cabinet more suitable for holding mugs. It is noted that the runoff of mugs stain the kitchen cabinet floor and create an unsanitary condition. The runoff, from liquid particles of various beverages, does not have a chance to evaporate unless both the top and bottom of mugs are open to the air. It is also noted that there is a need for a mug holder such that it fits entirely within the kitchen cabinet width. This invention seeks to remedy these conditions by providing an aerated platform for the mugs to rest on, two tiers to fit the height of kitchen cabinets and lateral expansion capability to fit the length of kitchen cabinets.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PHOTOGRAPHS

[0003] Photo 1 shows a box-like structure on which a mug rests on a top floor and another mug rests on a bottom floor of the extendable part. The bottom floor is above the tabletop to allow aeration to the bottom of the mug.

[0004] Photo 2 is a top view of the structure in which the left side shows the extendable within the center structure, and the right side shows the extendable entirely outside the center structure.

[0005] Photo 3 shows the details of the posts, planks, and feet that allow air circulation under the structure. The right extendable is outside the center structure for convenient viewing. The extendable slides within the center structure because the floors are of different heights and different widths to that of the center structure.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0006] Referring initially to Photo 1 we see a model of the Expandable Mug Organizer. There is a two tier structure, floors consisting of spaced plank-like ribs that support and aeration of the mugs. An extendable to each side is shown with one mug resting on one extendable. The X shows direction that the Extendable slides within and without the center.

[0007] Photo 2 is a top view showing both sides extended, the left side within the center and the right side without the center structure for demonstration purposes.

[0008] Photo 3 shows the center structure (1), the Extendable (2) entirely outside of the center structure for demonstration purposes. Supporting the floors are posts (3). The planking (4) or ribs, support and allow aeration of the mugs. The small extension of the posts, feet (5) maintain the bottom floors off the grounding.

Claims

1. An expandable mug organizer consisting of two or more floors that are parallel to each other supported by four posts that are perpendicular to them, in that one or more floors does not extend to the tip of the posts and each floor consists of slats separated and parallel to each other with posts whose ends have screw holes, glue pads, or other means of fastening to a flat object.

2. An expandable mug organizer that contains one or more similar structures whose dimensions, either larger or smaller, allow it to encompass or fit within or without one another such that the structures are slideably within or without one another.

3. An expandable mug organizer that contains one or more similar structures within such as to give the slideable capability of extending from the main structure such that pieces of the structure may be taken apart and put together for cleaning purposes without tools and may have appropriate fixtures such that one or more parts of the structure can contains wheels or rails such that the structure can ride on the rails to moved in any direction and that the rails be parallel to each other.
