Claims
- 1. A rack assembly comprising:
a. side supports with unblemished exterior surfaces having no holes therein; and b. a plurality of telescoping tubes connected between interior surfaces of the side supports; whereby the rack assembly is expandable to a selected length.
- 2. A rack assembly according to claim 1, wherein:
each one of the plurality of telescoping tubes has an interior section with one diameter, said interior section being slidable in an exterior section with a larger diameter.
- 3. A rack assembly according to claim 2, wherein:
said interior section and said exterior section each have a tapered transition zone with an intermediate diameter.
- 4. A rack assembly according to claim 3, wherein:
said intermediate diameter of the transition zone is the same for a rear end of the interior section and for a front end of the exterior section so that the interior section cannot completely pass out of the front end of the exterior section where the transition zone is located.
- 5. A rack assembly according to claim 4, further comprising:
a first plug arranged on a front end of the interior section; and a second plug arranged on a rear end of the exterior section.
- 6. A rack assembly according to claim 5, further comprising:
an externally threaded rod protruding from each of the first plug and the second plug.
- 7. A rack assembly according to claim 5, further comprising:
a first insert configured to secure the first plug into the front end of the interior section; and a second insert configured to secure the second plug into the rear end of the exterior section.
- 8. A rack assembly according to claim 6, further comprising:
shafts partially pre-drilled into the interior surfaces of the side supports and configured to receive each externally threaded rod.
