Claims
- 1. Footwear, comprising:
a foot dressing; an adjustable assembly contacting at least a portion of the foot dressing, the adjustable assembly having a first member and a second member in overlapping engagement with each other wherein one of the first and second members has at least one longitudinally extending projection and a control integral to the footwear apparatus to adjust a position of the first member relative to the second member and to thereby adjust a dimension of the adjustable assembly and thereby a corresponding dimension of the footwear apparatus, wherein the control requires only manual, tool-less operation to adjust a dimension of the inner assembly.
- 2. The footwear of claim 1 wherein the corresponding dimension of the footwear apparatus can be controlled for half size increments of longitudinal shoe size.
- 3. The footwear of claim 1 further comprising a sole having at least one cavity to receive the longitudinally extending projection.
- 4. The footwear of claim 3 wherein the longitudinally extending projection and the cavity are cylindrical-shaped.
- 5. The footwear of claim 3 wherein the longitudinally extending projection and the cavity are rectangular-shaped.
- 6. The footwear of claim 3 wherein the longitudinally extending projection and the cavity are triangular-shaped.
- 7. The footwear of claim 1 wherein one of the first and second members has two longitudinally extending projections and the sole has two cavities, each adapted to receive one of the longitudinally extending projections.
- 8. The footwear of claim 1 wherein one of the first and second members has only one longitudinally extending projection and the sole has a cavity adapted to receive the longitudinally extending projection.
- 9. The footwear of claim 1 wherein one of the first and second members has three longitudinally extending projections and the sole has three cavities, each adapted to receive one of the longitudinally extending projections.
- 10. Footwear, comprising:
a foot dressing having an upper foot portion and a sole; an adjustable inner assembly contacting at least a portion of the sole, the adjustable inner assembly having a first member and a second member, the adjustable assembly having a first member and a second member wherein one of the first and second members has at least one longitudinally extending projection and a control integral to the footwear apparatus to adjust a position of the first member relative to the second member and to thereby adjust a dimension of the adjustable assembly and thereby a corresponding dimension of the footwear apparatus, wherein the control requires only manual, tool-less operation to adjust a dimension of the inner assembly.
- 11. The footwear of claim 10 wherein the corresponding dimension of the footwear can be controlled for half size increments of longitudinal shoe size.
- 12. The footwear of claim 10 further comprising a sole having at least one cavity to receive the longitudinally extending projection.
- 13. The footwear of claim 12 wherein the longitudinally extending projection and the cavity are cylindrical-shaped.
- 14. The footwear of claim 12 wherein the longitudinally extending projection and the cavity are rectangular-shaped.
- 15. The footwear of claim 12 wherein the longitudinally extending projection and the cavity are triangular-shaped.
- 16. The footwear of claim 10 wherein one of the first and second members has two longitudinally extending projections and the sole has two cavities, each adapted to receive one of the longitudinally extending projections.
- 17. The footwear apparatus of claim 10 wherein one of the first and second members has only one longitudinally extending projection and the sole has a cavity adapted to receive the longitudinally extending projection.
- 18. The footwear apparatus of claim 10 wherein one of the first and second members has three longitudinally extending projections and the sole has three cavities, each adapted to receive one of the longitudinally extending projections.
